⚠️ DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ⚠️ This is one of the most disgraceful, dishonest, and hostile places I’ve ever encountered in years of travel. The problems began before I even stepped inside, and it kept getting worse. When I arrived and rang the bell, no one answered, so I rang again after waiting. After about five minutes, the owner finally appeared and screamed at me: “Why do you call the bell multiple times? The whole house is ringing now!” Maybe because she didn’t answer the first time. What an awful welcome. At check-in, she coldly told me breakfast wasn’t included, even though my Hostelworld booking clearly stated it was (screenshot attached). Her excuse was that I had paid a "promotional price" and wasn’t "entitled" to breakfast, which is a blatant scam. After showing her proof, she finally said they might offer me a “courtesy breakfast” only the next day, in the most condescending tone. No apology, no respect, and definitely no courtesy in giving someone the service they’ve already paid for. The room was disgusting: dirty, smelly, and completely unventilated. The only window was onto the dining area, giving me zero privacy and constant noise. I barely slept and was woken up at 6 a.m. by the lucky ones who did get breakfast. But the worst part is the owner, easily the rudest and most unpleasant person I’ve met in Peru. The next day, I brought a friend over for a short visit. She immediately followed and confronted us, saying guests weren’t allowed in rooms and could only stay in the "living room", which was basically two filthy couches in a dark hallway. Again no privacy, even when you're paying for a private room. She made me feel targeted, humiliated, and extremely uncomfortable. My short stay (and my date) became absolute hell because of this intrusive, aggressive woman. After I left, she even sent me threatening WhatsApp messages, saying "It looks like you’re looking for problems here." I was done. Feeling unsafe, I returned, packed up, and left that same evening despite having already paid. That’s how horrible this place is: I preferred losing money over spending another minute there. I checked into Maison du Soleil, just around the corner. For only a few dollars more, the difference was like night and day: kind staff, spotless rooms, real hospitality. Everything this dump lacks. Fellow travelers, AVOID THIS HOSTEL AT ALL COSTS. Don’t be fooled by the cheap price. It’s not worth the stress, filth, or hostility. There are far better, honest places nearby. P.S. I’ve reported this business to both Hostelworld and the Peruvian Consumer Protection Authority (Indecopi) for false advertising, denial of service, and refusal to provide the legally required complaint form. Hopefully justice catches up with them soon. In the meantime, please stay safe and STAY AWAY!

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Arequipa!

Staying at this hotel was truly an unforgettable experience. Located just a few blocks from the iconic Plaza de Armas in Arequipa’s historic center, the hotel is perfectly situated to explore the city’s rich history and stunning architecture.

The standout of my stay was Don Cirilo—what an incredible host! His kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care for every guest made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. Whether it was a recommendation for the best local restaurants or helping with directions, he went above and beyond to ensure my stay was seamless.

The hotel itself was immaculate—cleanliness is clearly a top priority here. My room was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering a peaceful retreat after long days of sightseeing. The charm of the hotel’s design complemented the historic atmosphere of Arequipa, and the attention to detail was remarkable.

If you’re looking for a place that combines warmth, cleanliness, and an unbeatable location, this hotel is the perfect choice. I can’t recommend it enough! Thank you to Don Cirilo and the entire team for such a memorable stay—I’ll...
