We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. I would like to say that this is not a 5 star hotel and it will never reach that. It is well located and the rooms are spacious. That is all the positive we can come up with. Now the negatives. There was not coffee maker or coffee of any kind in the room, not even a small bottle of water. The room was also lacking a hair dryer. We have traveled a lot, and even in Cusco and Aguas Calientes (both 3 star hotels in Peru) had at least a complimentary water bottle in the room. The breakfast, for this kind of hotel was awful. Not a lot of variety and not very welcoming. Cold cuts-1, cheese 2 and terrible quality. Bread was not fresh. The breakfast was better a little our last day there, but still very low standard. Now for the worst part. Customer service! Or lack there of. we had asked to check out at a later time on a Wednesday(the hotel was far from busy) at 1:30 since we were leaving for Cusco later that day, and they stated they would charge us for it, even though we had come in late the day before and we asked for the room not to be made up since we had hardly used it. The one lady at the front desk on all the days was not very well trained in Customer Service. We checked out that day at 11 as per hotel policy. We returned at another time later in the week and we arrived from a long plane trip at around 9:00 AM for one more night. We asked if we could have breakfast(which closes at 10:00 AM) and the same lady stated that if we had breakfast on that day(with less then one hour for the breakfast to close) we would not be allowed to have breakfast the next day. No consideration. I know that we were treated differently because we spoke Spanish, although we have lived in Canada for most of our lives, but at the time we thought we would be treated the same, but that was not the case, she treated someone that spoke English completely different, as in a lot better, right in front of our eyes. It is unfortunate, because Peru is a great country and we were treated with the outmost respect by everyone else that was not at this hotel. Do yourself a favour and avoid this hotel if you care about...
Read moreJ and A classic hotel, also known as Thunderbird Hotels Pardo is were my girlfriend and I decided to lay our heads during our 5 day stay in Peru. Firstly, I can't say that this honestly is a five star hotel at the moment. However if they decided to put some good money into renovating this establishment it could very well reach that goal. I booked us the senior suite during our stay. The room was well sized with a great view of the city around us, it was cool sitting on our bed and causally gazing out the window and seeing the parasailors loft by in the distance. The restroom was also cool with a jacuzzi tub that was an enjoyable way to end our evenings. Breakfast was definitely lacking, however it was worth the tea/coffee to get you going in the morning. By far and away the best thing about this hotel is it's location, which is In the heart of the Miraflores neighborhood on a main street. There's plenty of eateries around you with much nightlife to be had. All in all a comfortable and enjoyable stay, while there may be fancier and more established 5 star hotels in lima. This hotels superior location keeps its head...
Read moreMy partner and I enjoyed very much the cleanliness and the location of the hotel. Situated right in the heart of Miraflores, a ten-minute walk from the Park of Love, it enables you to go jogging along the beaches in the morning and enjoy some cool restaurants of international cuisine in the neighborhood without the need to use a taxi as this quarter is safe and welcoming. I loved the gym which offers a view right over the Huaca Pucllana ruins and the adjacent lobby overlooking (with a 360° view) Lima where we enjoyed some evening drinks. The sauna offers perfect privacy and the terrace right next to it enables you to walk out for the relaxing time in between your sauning sessions to enjoy some fresh air. Our Junior King Suite was spacious, had a jacuzzi in the bathroom, a perfect, fast Wi-Fi connection and some essentials (cutlery etc.) in the dining area. The beds and beddings are extremely comfy. I slept like a baby, with no sound from the streets below disturbing. The staff was very helpful and professional in all respects. Totally...
