1.0 General Impression 1.1 Rating & Justification Overall Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars
Reasoning: The rating reflects strong positives in aesthetics and service quality, but significant negatives in food taste and quality.
2.0 Positive Highlights 2.1 Ambience & Presentation Exterior & Interior Design: Immaculate; both outside and inside design felt upscale and thoughtfully curated.
Table Setup: Elegant presentation of napkins, utensils, and table layout enhanced the dining experience visually.
2.2 Service Server Attention: Exceptional service; the waiter was attentive, respectful, and contributed positively to the experience.
2.3 Beverages Chicha Morada & Jugo de Maracuyá: Enjoyable and well-prepared; both drinks were praised and even reordered.
3.0 Negative Highlights 3.1 Food Quality & Flavor Causa: Presentation was okay; taste unremarkable.
Anticuchos: Described as bland and flavorless, with hard potatoes and tasteless corn. Even the sauce couldn't redeem it.
Ají de Gallina: Disappointing, described as having no flavor despite being a traditionally rich dish.
Arroz con Pato: Similarly lacked flavor; overall taste profile did not meet expectations.
Wings: Acceptable, but generic – not part of traditional Peruvian fare and nothing special.
3.2 Comparative Disappointment Visited both cheaper and more expensive restaurants nearby, all of which outperformed Panchita in flavor and food quality.
The high online ratings (e.g., 4.5 on TripAdvisor, “Travelers’ Choice 2024”) did not align with the actual experience.
4.0 Cultural Context & Final Thoughts 4.1 Expectations vs. Reality Family of native Peruvians used to eating Peruvian food daily at home—felt this restaurant did not meet traditional flavor standards.
Despite visual appeal and hype, the food did not deliver in authenticity or taste.
Left disappointed to the point of giving away leftovers and not photographing subsequent meals.
4.2 Future Consideration I might be willing to return under different circumstances.
Family members unlikely to revisit due to strong dissatisfaction.
5.0 Conclusion Recommendation: Not recommended for those seeking authentic Peruvian flavors or value for money.

Read morePanchita - Miraflores is undeniably a beautiful restaurant and a standout destination in the Acurio culinary empire. The atmosphere is vibrant, the decor is stunning, and the food is exceptional – everything you’d expect from a Gastón Acurio experience. However, while the food lived up to the hype, the overall experience fell a bit short due to some service challenges.
The Highlights: The food was fantastic! Every dish we tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and showcased the best of Peruvian cuisine. It’s clear why Panchita has such a strong reputation. The staff at our table was genuinely attentive and kind. You could tell they were passionate about providing great service, even though they seemed stretched thin.
Areas for Improvement: Service Delays: We waited 30 minutes for bottled water after ordering, which was surprising for a restaurant of this caliber. The place was packed, and while I understand that big groups can slow things down, basic requests like water should be prioritized. Overwhelmed Staff: The team handling our table was amazing, but it was clear they were juggling too much. The restaurant felt understaffed for the volume of guests, which impacted the overall experience. Festejo Celebrations: While the festive “festejo” birthday celebrations add energy to the atmosphere, they can feel a bit disruptive, especially for guests who are focused on pairing their food and drinks. It might be worth reconsidering how these are integrated into the dining experience.
Final Thoughts: Panchita - Miraflores is a must-visit for the food alone, but the service and pacing need some attention to match the quality of the cuisine. With a few adjustments – like better staffing during peak hours and a more balanced approach to celebrations – this place could truly shine as the world-class dining destination it aims to be. I’d still recommend it, but go prepared for a lively,...
Read moreLady hostess NEEDS TO GO. Her attitude is awful. She should not be in the front of the house. I checked in with a young gentleman and told him I’m ok sitting at the bar if that will get me thru quicker. He said the wait is an hr which is fine. When I came back in an hour he informed me the bar was complete but there was an open seat. I then told them a table would be fine. I waited 10 mins and asked the lady at the front. She said I’d have to wait 2 hrs because giving me a table is impossible even though I’d already waited an hr and a half. And every time I asked she would say no. The bar was legit empty with two women reading (picture). Again wouldn’t let me sit there. Idk what her problem was im not sure if she is racist because im Muslim and wear the head scarf or just had an issue with me because i don’t speak much Spanish . Either way it was not appreciated. Awful service.
The young gentlemen who checked me in got me a table outside after 1 hr and a half . I waited 30 mins more, no servers came to me. I was not brought silverware or nothing. I literally had to call someone to take my order. Didn’t even get a plate and napkin and tables around me were receiving their napkins and getting orders taken before me even though I sat down first. I didn’t even want to eat at this point out of disgust from this establishment but I waited hours just to eat and didn’t want to go anywhere else out of being emotionally exhausted. The waiter that I called over to take my order only took it and left checked in to see if I wanted a drink even though i did they had already ruined the experience and I just wanted to eat and go. I finished half my plate. It was salty and cold, paid , left a generous tip because I feel for the staff and it’s an exhausting job and left. I have been traveling Peru for 2 weeks and this was by far the worse...
