Total rip-off, avoid at all costs.
How can a hotel be built so close to railroad tracks? The noise is extremely loud. At first I thought the noise would only be during the day, but here I am sleepless at 2 a.m. writing this review. The soundproofing is non existent, so you clearly hear the loud sound (and feel the vibrations) of passing trains day in day out. Not to mention stray dogs barking at night and random shouts. And yes, that's even with wearing good earplugs.
People at the reception were dishonest; at checkout they first told me I can't pay with credit card because the machine is broken. Then when I told them I didn't have any cash on me, they conveniently pulled out a credit card reader and charged me extra because the rate they offered me was a special (which is a complete lie as the rate I got matched the normal rates displayed right behind the lady at the reception desk....). Checkout was not particularly speedy either.
No hot water, which I find ironic for a hotel in a city called Aguas Calientes...
As other reviewers suggested, hygiene and cleanliness are lacking.
The sound issue is terrible, especially for travelers like me who'd like to get a good night's sleep before a long trek to the Macchu Picchu early next morning.

Read moreI can tell the only thing - if you need to have a rest before Macchu Picchu - just avoid it. All we needed - just sleep before leaving early, and it was impossible as we were put in a room straight next to the train lines. I initially asked for a matrimonial room, but we got room with separated beds. And then our pillow was located to the window, which was not protecting us from any noise. And it was really loud. I can sleep in any conditions usually, but here I was not able to fall asleep, and when I finally did, I woke up all the time, even at 1 a.m., sweating and anxious from this sounds with which is obviously just impossible to sleep. Was not possible to find anyone at night, and when we came at 5 a.m. to the lady, she told us that we are wasting her time. Nothing there really mattered as good sleep. We didn’t get any. So please take care of yours if you have tiring and adventurous...
Read moreAC acts as a hub before and after MP. |All we wanted was a comfortable room, working bathroom, hot shower and free wifi. Ticked all those boxes for a cheap price. Didn’t need the frills. ||Bed was comfortable enough for the two of us. Shower was good but a bit narrow. Hot water fluctuates, but with a bit of patience it comes back. I noticed when our neighbour was having a shower the stream in my shower was super weak. I waited til the neighbour was done and my shower stream was hot and fine! ||Wifi worked well while we were there. ||Got a packed breakfast to queue for the bus to MP - asked for it the day before (2 small cheese croissants, banana, energy bar and apple juice- more than sufficient for breakfast). ||Would recommend to other budget couple travellers who aren’t keen on...
