Did you enjoy Mr Roger’s neighborhood or train sets? It’s art in process, but was better than the photos…. I’m excited to see what else they’ll build.. it makes me want to build miniature ruins and bridges too in my future solar garden! I did enjoy the two waterfalls and ate my lunch by one of them and it was a fun little hike. It’s 20 soles for foreigners and 10 soles for locals I think. Maybe someday they will had built so much it’ll make it into that book Weird World like the people who keep building continuously making new art of junk. With many nearby trails closed for conservation efforts or requiring entry to Machu Picchu to go on certain trails or to sign up for a four day trek, I found it entertaining and different…. like I’ve seen many waterfalls so I’m jaded by most and I’ll try to find waterfalls amazing, but I’m more excited to support local art and see new living things in nature I’ve never seen before. A nice break from the usual. I put four starts because it’s not done yet, but I have a feeling this is the sort of enjoyable art project that’ll be a life long ongoing project .. so I’ll excited and reserving that 5th star for the new projects they’ll have...
Read moreWe thought we were in for a free stroll, only to be greeted by a friendly young man at the gate, which is 3/4 of the way up, asking for 20 soles per person. Good thing we had some cash in our pockets. But you know what? It turned out to be worth every penny! We felt good knowing our contribution was going to support his family and the local community.
As we embarked on the trail, we were blown away by its beauty! Picture this: a winding path adorned with charming rocks and logs that artfully created natural steps. It was like nature’s own obstacle course, and we loved every moment of it! Honestly, the waterfall was just the cherry on top—the real star was the trail itself!
Thank goodness we brought a trekking pole along for the ride; it was a lifesaver! The shade provided a refreshing cool breeze, making our trek even more enjoyable. We couldn't stop smiling as we soaked in the breathtaking views around us.
All in all, this experience was a thrilling blend of adventure and natural beauty. If you’re looking for a fun escapade, this trail is a must-visit! We...
Read moreI am a firm believer that hikes and waterfall gazing should be free to the public, but this is fairly affordable at 15 soles
It isn’t too much of a walk from any point in Aguas Calientes to the ticket office. From the ticket office is only a 10min walk from the falls. You can either get entry to the trail for 15s or for 20s you get that same entry and entry to the hot springs that are along the way. These hot springs are neat because there are multiple pools and each is a different temperature. I will say the water looks more brown and unappealing than anything. Also, due to the standing water you walk through a walkway of swarms of mosquito looking bugs
Once past the springs you will soon come across multiple sets of cascading falls (most small) until you make it to the top and see the main falls
The falls is gorgeous, but it gets congested at the top. People will also hog the views if there’s too many people
It is a hike for anyone in that it is only ~15min, but there are steep...
