Hotel Machupicchu Inn — Hotel in Machu Picchu

This experience summarizes what is wrong with Peruvian tourism overall! You’re a walking dollar sign and nobody gives a ** about the experience they offer you. They know that hardly anybody comes back to Machu Picchu, and openly take advantage of it. Probably this review won’t help to prevent anybody from getting booked into it through a tour provider (like we did), but I hope it does at least help individuals who are looking for accommodation.

About this “hotel”: Terribly small and loud rooms, black mold on the walls, no real windows, no comfort whatsoever: no towel racks, no small towels or towels for the dirty floor, breakfast till 8am sharp - if you try to get at least a dry bread roll with terrible cheese they give you a look 🙄 The small beds were comfortable, but the sheets dirty. All in all a terrible experience, that the unmotivated, unfriendly staff underlined perfectly. DON’T...

Pros:||1. This hotel is located in a very good location.||2. Its in front of the 3rd Bridge and has lots of shops and restaurants near by.||3. The staff and front desk was very helpful.||||Cons:||1. The road facing room was very noisy. There is a club right in front which starts loud music at night and goes on till late night. Also in the morning when day starts getting busy, you can hear lot of noise.||2. We had a leaking shower which spread the water over entire bathroom.||3. Very poor internet. On arrival, the hotel no longer had the rooms available that we had reserved. They tried to send us to a different hostel nearby that did not have enough space for our whole group. They refused to offer any sort of discount for the inconvenience and would not refund my deposit. They kept saying that they would compensate us by giving breakfast but that we would have to walk over to their location (but breakfast was already supposed to have been included in our reservation and was not any extra).
