We’re glad we found this restaurant. When you pass by, you don’t see hundreds of dishes, all centered around meat, but instead one simple sign: vegan food. We were looking for something meat-free, and the added bonus was that they serve local Peruvian dishes.
Before visiting this place, I was starting to believe that Peru’s national dishes might be hamburgers, pizza, and fries. Here, we had the chance to try delicious vegetarian food, authentically Peruvian. At first, I was surprised that the dishes were cold, but the waitress explained that they are traditionally served this way. I didn’t protest because the flavors were absolutely exquisite.
The prices are comparable to those in the city center—somewhat high—but in this case, you’re guaranteed top-quality food. Besides, when someone uses ingredients like cilantro and ginger in their dishes, it’s a clear indication of the level of quality compared to the usual salt and pepper.
The restaurant itself is modest but clean. Nobody outside pressures or tries to lure you in, and the place doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. It simply offers honest, good food.

So it's slow I'm Aguas Calientas af the moment as Machu Picchu was closed all pandemic and there were protests in Peru when it opened back up..so I can understand why there was only 1 person, the owner doing anything.
It was a long wait for our food do to this. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable but nothing special.
We ordered 3 dishes to share...one of them ended up being pretty normal vegetable stir fry with soy sauce , for wait and price only okay ... however...
The Eggplant Subji (not on the menu ) was one of the best dishes I have had my entire time in Peru and hands down one of the best vegan Indian dishes I have ever had in my life, worth the wait and price !!!!! Wish I had some pictures. I mean you could taste the love here. The Spinach Subji we asked for without creme I'm the sauce and it was also extremely delicious.
The owner is very kind and polite and an amazing chef. One of the few Indian restaurants in Peru and few organic and vegetarian restaurants in Aguas Calientas. Be ready to wait, but we definitely felt it was worth it....
Read moreUpon eating here, we immediately wished we had found this incredible restaurant sooner. Without a doubt, we would have eaten every meal in Aguas at this place, had we known about it.
The family feel and care the staff put into our experience was unmatched. And the food…THE FOOD. Nourishing, vegetarian, filling, and delectable. It is clear that someone put a lot of thought and skill into creating each and every dish. We enjoyed our lunch so much that we ordered an additional meal to take home for dinner!
We order the ginger tea, the anti-inflammatory juice, quinoa soup, stiffed avocados, stuffed peppers and the paneer Indian meal that came with delicious bread.
Everything was fantastic, we couldn’t have asked for a better meal after two strenuous and beautiful days of hiking Machu Picchu. The atmosphere of the restaurant left a little to be desired (maybe some music would have added a bit of ambiance), but for us this didn’t matter.
If you want truly nourishing food with a Peruvian twist,...
