At arrival we got handed a key to a room with 2 seperate beds while we had booked one with a double bed. Then we had to wait an hour to get the room which we had booked. (Note that it was very late already and we really needed our sleep to go to Machu Picchu the day after) The receptionist kept saying 5 more minutes but it ended up lasting over an hour. Then they said there was an overlap between bookings and someone else had already booked this room. After a lot of confusion we got handed the key to the room which we initialy booked.
The view from our room was amazing. Too bad we couldn't see it due to the incredibly dirty windows. This room hadn't been cleaned before our arrival, only the bed was made. There was even some used soap in the bathroom. The bed however was really good.
The breakfast was in the same trend as the rest of the experience. Cold eggs and coffee, no variation. No one from the staff came to check up on us during breakfast. The staff exists of young girls that don't really seem to care much. They were just laughing in the kitchen.
The location is perfect since it's close to the train station and the busses to Machu Picchu.
All together not really...
Read moreBy far the best Airbnb stay we’ve had in Peru that provides consistent hot water in the shower and sink. We’ve stayed in four Airbnbs now in Peru and it’s honestly hard to get that. Members of staff speak English, and the bed was super comfy.
It’s super easy to find and get to from the train station and it’s in such a great location in terms of the waterfall, market, restaurants etc. The views were mind blowing from the bedroom, and for such a great price too. We would recommend and stay here again.
Another bonus is that you can even see the Machu Picchu bus station and queue from the room, the queue is literally at your doorstep just over the bridge which is fantastic.
Note that, if you need the hairdryer, simply ask the receptionist as they do not automatically provide that in the room. The downside is that it’s not soundproof, you’ll hear everything that happens...
Read morePros: Cheap night in Machu Picchu town (as just getting to Machu Picchu in train and going to the sight is not very cheap even for the most basic train ticket). Cons: The staff at reception appeared to be incompetent to handle guests. Our reservation was not in their system, even though it was in booking.com. Eventually we were given a room (for the same price but without mountain view). We were asked not to use the extra bed in the room. Which felt wrong given they had made a mistake of not giving us the correct room. Towels were in reception, so we had to go back down. The receptionist forgot to return 4 passports of other guests and tried to hand them out to us in the morning by mistake. I could now have Brazilian and Spanish nationality if I had...
