Random organised stay - as the tour operator messed up our trek. We do not know what it was booked for as the operator is trying to make amends. Cheapest hotel in the area I can't say I am excited. Very locally central to the bus 3 min walk, also train station 5 min. So in the day time you can hear the tooting every 25min. A primary school is at the back of the building. Bath room is very very small- just about able to shut the door with a Millimeter space at the toilet. Loo roll can be found opposite wall under the counter. Toilet and bath need a good clean grime around the edges. The bath is the smallest I have ever seen does have a shower. It is very minimalist. We were put in a double room. Ie a single bed and a double bed. The tv was set so only pay per view being available. We reset the tv - got all the channels. We have a building site in front of the hotel and a children's fair. Very very noisy even with the small balcony door and window closed. No heater to be found. The safe is tiny - which is key operated. I felt it was to unsafe so I took valuables with me for dinner. We are leaving before breakfast so I can not comment on it. 1 night table and 1 chair. No shelves - tinniest wardrobe with 4 hangers (? If 3 people did use the room you could only fit a few things if you had hangers, I have seen bigger broom cupboards!). No water freely available - you must buy the bottles. The room otherwise is clean. The reception looks nice.
Service: trying to check-in seemed very difficult - took a long time and a miss understanding in the booking. They tried pairing us up with the couple we had been trekking with. Later in the evening coming down for dinner the reception was so busy that when I tried to get his attention it was impossible (in his own world? On his mobile). Coming back from dinner there was no receptionist to be found.
Edit: we have noticed the luggage storage is not secure- bags had been rummaged through. Finally noticed something missing! Electrical. Not happy. Also when we came back off from the street we were never changed regarding picking up the luggage. Again reception was busy on her phone and...
Read moreThis place was booked for our group by a tour company. The entire time during our stay, there was a bad mildew like odor throughout our floor. The comforter was stained and the sheets didn’t look clean. The bathrooms were reaaallllyy small and the shower still had some grime. When trying to shower, the faucet completely came off, as if it was hanging by a thread, when trying to turn on the water. The staff then charged us $100 because of it even though we explained multiple times that we didn’t break it and it came off with the lightest touch. The only pro about this place was how close it was to the train station. Do not recommend this place at all, it’s worth either leaving the town and staying elsewhere after Machu Picchu or paying a little more for a...
