Hostal Apu Salkantay — Hotel in Santiago

Hostal Apu Salkantay was the perfect place to stay for a few days in Cusco! I was backpacking on a budget with a friend and found this gem. It is very close (2 min walk) to Cusco's main bus terminal, Terminal Terrestre which is great for those wishing to head to other areas of Peru or South America. It is a 20 minute walk away from the main Plaza de las Armas but a 5 minute cab ride will only set you back 4 soles (about $1.30). The hostal was very clean and came with soap, towels, and fast wifi (rare in some other parts of Peru). The owners are also lovely and will answer any question you have about Cusco. They are also accommodating and even let us use their roof to dry some hiking supplies! We left to do the Choquequirao trek and had no problem leaving extra things behind in the hostal for our return. The beds were very comfortable and had warm blankets, a necessity for cold Cusco nights. Um lugar muito aconchegante, com um quarto muito bom. Camas novas, vários cobertores a nossa disposição (peguei muito frio) e o banheiro é dentro do quarto, o que facilita muuuuito. O preço foi o melhor da cidade, pude ficar com minha família inteira aqui com um precinho que nem no Brasil encontraria. Sem contar com a receptividade da dona do Hostel, muito simpática e atenciosa! Su ventaja es que está en cerca a las terminales terrestres. De ahí la atención no es buena: se olvidan de darte un parte de los implementos (como la toalla y el jabón), cuando te registras, no hay agua caliente aunque aleguen de que sí y la clave WiFi que te brinda no funciona en ninguna red que aparenta ser suya.
