This is THE WORST HOTEL I have ever stayed at in my 65 years of travel for business and pleasure. | I have stayed in both luxury and budget hotels, but have NEVER stayed in a budget hotel as bad as this one.| I AM APPALLED BY THE LACK OF BASIC AMENITIES in this hotel. THERE WAS NO CLOTHES CLOSET, NO DRESSING TABLE, NO BEDSIDE TABLES, NO READING LAMPS, NO LUGGAGE RACKS, NO GLASSES IN THE BATHROOM FOR BRUSHING ONE’s TEETH and NO SHOWER DOOR! The shower had HALF A DOOR - hence when one showers, the water spills out of the shower, and becomes a SAFETY HAZARD. | Sadly, we had to buy our own bath towels, because the hotel’s towels were old, grayish and ratty-looking.| The hotel has a truly RIDICULOUS KEY CARD: the name of the hotel, the address and even the room number are PRINTED on the card! I have never, ever seen a hotel card such as that! An invitation to burglars! LOL!||The hotel has 2 saving graces:||1. A very helpful housekeeping team. The 2 paid FTEs JULIAN MADRINIAN & JOHN MARTIN and the OJTs PRINCESS ALCANTARA, CHRISTINE, JOANNA, JAYSON, ALALAE, GELAICA & RADILYN went out of their way to make us comfortable, despite the lack of basic amenities. They found square tables to serve as a dressing table and they covered our bed with freshly-ironed bedsheets. They respond PROMPTLY to our requests for water, TPs and room cleaning. They were young, unjaded and still passionate about their jobs.||2. The general manager, NATHAN BARROGA was very conscientious and customer-centric! Although he was stationed in their newer hotel, NEWTOWN PLAZA across the Botanical Gardens. He came promptly and addressed our complaints. He offered to move us to the newer hotel with a buffet breakfast thrown-in for the rest of our stay. If not for the (far) distance from the city center, we might’ve accepted his offer.| Customer satisfaction is Mr. Barroga’s goal, as he is tenacious about pleasing the guests. He very graciously gave us a delicious cheesecake, which we liked very much and shared with the housekeeping staff.| |I very rarely write negative feedbacks about the hotels and restaurants we’ve been to, but I believe that guests should be aware of what to expect before making...
Read moreI would recommend Travelite if only they could improve their services.
The building was quite clean and new upon entering the premises. The elevator was nice.
During our stay, we availed the deluxe room because of the burnham park view and we requested if we could accommodate the top most floor. They agreed and allowed us to occupy the room 719 immediately after showing us the rooms (standard & deluxe). Sadly, the 719 key card wasn't working (it caused us too much hassle throughout our stay). We called the front desk and they called the house keeper to let us in our room. I requested the front desk personnel ahead of time that I wanted out beds together but she didn't do something about it. I even asked a female housekeeper if they could move the bed together. She just replied 'yes' as if she was about to leave or waiting for me to do it myself; so I did it and while I was doing it (seems like a little conscience strucked her) and she helped me move the bed together.
In addition to this, It would be better if the staffs would check the cleanliness of the room first because allowing their guest to occupy their rooms. My boyfriend has allergic rhinitis and was allergic to dusts (but he never complains). The room was full of dust (from the room floors, comfort room, tables, clothes rack and bedside table), some are very evident. It was such a hassle on my part that I wiped every surface of the tables using my wet wipes because I can't take it and I badly wanted to sweep the floor. The new white slippers they provided was very dusty because of the floors. Please please please upgrade the skills of your housekeepers. Also, it would be better if you could provide some chairs for us to sit.
Lastly, please have some endorsements among your staffs (specially the front desk personnels) because we still need to tell them the story about our key card over and over again.
Travelite seems to be a very nice place but you badly need to train you staffs well about providing good service. They seems to be polite but they also needs to anticipate the guests needs and comfort. Thank you!
PS: The breakfast at Gerry's Grill...
Read more2nd time I stayed in this hotel with my family. The first time was a couple of years ago when the hotel just launched. There was not much of a difference other than the presence of a dipper in the bathroom. I guess the owner realized that they have to make up for the absence of a bidet to accomodate the Filipino 'tabo' culture. The dipper might look a bit out of place in the sink area but I'd rather that it was there, won't you?
When I first stayed in this hotel, I appreciated that while the lobby is small, the space and the seating area is just right for the size of the hotel and they did not skimp on interior design either- the hallways are well-lit and the rooms look light and airy. I also liked the way they ensured the safety of the guests staying at the hotel. Instead of the usual keycard provided to guests for elevator access, the guard has to swipe their card as well. This sense of security and the newness and cleanliness of the hotel was the reason why I decided to stay there again.
However, I think a bit of cleaning in the walls of the bathroom can make it better as one can see some dried up soap suds. Other than that I would have said the hotel was spic and span. I would definitely stay here again and recommend that you do, too.
For those on a budget, check out their rates. If you have company, the price aint too far off compared to transient houses. Having a secured place to stay near Burnham Park and other commercial establishments more than makes up for the slight price difference if having a nice, clean space with your own private bathroom does not cut it out for you yet.
PS: Do not get turned off for the additional Php50 parking fee they charge as they don't charge per entry/exit. The charge is for each day of your stay so you can come and go and still get charged the same rate. Parking slots are big and the area...
