Behold! My sins against the poor Veniz hotel monopoly of Baguio! Upon checkout, they quite self-righteously attempted to charge me 500 pesos ('full charge' I overheard) for the primal sin of "misuse of a towel" - putting a used towel on the floor. A very dirty floor it was, of this very dirty hotel, and it became dirty likewise. The shower water was lukewarm at best. The WiFi cut in and out constantly, requiring signing in each time; completely useless. While the location is prime, the rooms are dirty, out-dated (I haven't ever seen such an old model of keycard in my life).. and the service leaves much to be desired. There were no written rules anywhere in the hotel, of course, as the proper use of a towel was never the point. I even left a tip for the cleaning staff and offered to clean the towel myself if it was such a concern that a towel may become dirty (not stained), but alas, the outcome was pre-determined.. You will pay additional fees for towel usage regardless of your sins. If you stay, exit through the third floor to McDonald's for most convenient city access from this soulless corporate chain. Edit: Was going to give 2 stars for location, but noticed other reviews mentioning a similar experience of the towel scam. 1 star it is! Thanks po. 🙌

I stayed at Hotel Veniz Burnham for 2 nights and informed them ahead of time that I would be arriving in Baguio between 7 PM and 8 PM. When I arrived, there was only one customer ahead of me, but the front desk staff were not very accommodating or hospitable. The room was okay, it was clean and quite spacious. There was a safety deposit box where you can keep your valuables. However, the shower kept leaking, and the handle needs to be replaced. One inconvenience I experienced was that my keycard didn’t work, so I had to go all the way back down to the ground floor for them to check and fix it. I also had issues with their Wi-Fi. Every time I left the hotel and came back, I had to log in again with the username and password, which was a bit of a hassle. It would be better if they used a system with an expired session instead of requiring repeated logins. Also, hotel slippers were not provided in the room, I had to request them from the front desk, which I think should already be standard for guest convenience.

Such horrible experience that robbed us of a supposed happy vacation.

We were denied an early check in literally 5 minutes from our reserved time. Arrived 1:55, and check in time was 2:00. Reason provided by the receptionist was, "Fully booked po kasi so naglilinis pa." Really? 5 mins before new guests come in? I would have understood if we were told we need to wait 5 minutes for them to organize the waiting guests because I realized some are also waiting in the lobby.

When we got in our room, bidet was leaking and the sink was clogged. We had this reported and fixed because they collect P500 as damages deposit. The P500 deposit is not an issue, but it's such a hassle to have someone fix things in your room when you're supposed to be resting. And for someone hypersensitive about dust, the room isn't too clean either. I kept sneezing all throughout the first night.

Then there was a power outage in the evening of our second night. Tried calling in using their phone but no dial tone so I guess it was the kind that uses electricity. We called their cellphone number and reached someone at the 4th call attempt, and we're told there was a scheduled outage which will be fixed in an hour. I mean, why wasn't it announced? The outage was a hassle but my family and I are not unreasonable, we know these things happen, but a heads up would have made it less infuriating. Given that we had tried calling multiple times before reaching someone, my mom had reached the lobby personally during the call I made. She made the complaint and the male receptionist had the audacity to frown on her?

Food is so-so. Not friendly for picky eaters like myself and my brother. But it's still complimentary, so I won't say much about it.

It isn't even as accessible as I hoped it would be. Pedestrian lanes are a bit far off to Burnham Park, and the walk to restaurants are uphill. We could have gone somewhere else with more accessible footpaths.

We're still here and checking out today at 12 noon, and I doubt anything could change my mind about this hotel.

Overall Baguio experience was wonderful but the stay in this hotel was something I regret. We booked this place because my aunt recommended it but I guess we had different...

This was my 3rd & Last stay at Veniz Burnham.

Location 5/5 -just located across burnham park and walking distance to a lot of baguio’s popular restaurants like Good Taste & Cafe by the Ruins, walking distance to the market to buy vegetables and pasalubongs. 5-15min walk to session road & sm baguio

Parking 3/5 There was a parking slot but it was a first come first serve basis. If parking was already full, they will direct you to park at Veniz Session road instead. A little bit hassle for us since we are with our baby. This hotel can double park for you but you have to leave your keys with the guard on duty. Cannot go out easily since they have to move all the parked cars before you can exit.

Customer care 1/5 Hard to contact hotel. All numbers posted are not working. No answer. Just rings. Our visita.baguio application was not confirmed because they dont answer chats and phonecalls. The good things was there was no more checkpoints during our baguio visit so they didnt checked if we already have our confirmed qr codes. If they checked, we’ll have a big problem.

Cleanliness 1/5 Room smells old and moldy. Sheets & towels does not smell crisp and clean. I suggest bringing your own towels. Comfort room is not clean. Faucet & shower has lots of molds. Sink dirty and faucet is loose broken. Housekeeping can do a better cleaning. We (including our baby) had skin allergies due to fungal infection from the water from showering as per our checkup with the doctor.

Food 3/5 Nothing special but breakfast is free. 1st day- tapa, fried bangus, fried rice, egg, salad 2nd day- egg, hotdogs, salad You can toast your own bread, but toaster is very black and dirty.

Comfort 2/5 Pillow was not soft but sheets are comfy, aircon was faulty at our room. Can only be turned off and operate at the coldest temp.

Reception 2/5 We requested for tv remote 5x from the front desk, remote was never delivered.

Value for money 4/5 One of the cheapest hotel with good location.

Would i come back? Honestly, No. Veniz Burnham was not the same as before. Needs a lot of cleaning. I suggest just try their newer hotel V hotel apartel and Veniz Session for good...

Hotel Veniz in Burnham was a good enough place when I first stayed there but the succeeding trips were quite a disappointment. When booking, always take with caution the rooms recommended in the default setting of their website. I learned a bad lesson when I trusted the system completely. Only after I have fully paid for the reservation did I learn that the room had no window and inaccessible by elevator. ||If you are travelling with old people, this is particularly discomforting. But the uninitiated would click the reserved button right away since the systems give only four hours to pay or booking would be cancelled. Once payment is made, only then does information on the accommodation become available. You might be shocked to know that if you book separate rooms, they might be at different floors. Rooms offered at uniform rates are not necessarily identical in size, location, and view. ||Last time, we were assured a family room but the place turned out to be too cramped, and while there was window overlooking Burnham Park, it was too high for a person of average height to look out into the sceneries outside, which basically defeats the purpose of having a room with a view. For some reason, I always end up getting these cramp, disappointing accommodations even when the price I paid was supposedly for the high-end type. ||Another problem is parking. The basement is too dark and poorly-designed a novice driver would have a difficult time positioning his car especially those mid-sized SUVs. The basement ground is uneven, and with so many concrete pillars blocking the way, parking is a challenge. They have security at the basement but none of them is apparently able to drive. You have to do it on your own. Sometimes if you get to park at the inner slots, you will surely get blocked by other vehicles and it takes a while to page the owner to move his car aside in case you are leaving. ||This place is not worth the trouble of staying there, I would suggest that one finds a better alternative, and avoid this hotel as much...
