El Dawn Inn — Hotel in Baler

Last December 28 to 30, 2014 my friends and I went to Baler. A month before, my boyfriend reserved for 2 rooms (4pax each room) and just deposited P1000 for that. We arrived at El Dawn at around 3 in the morning, although the staff knows that we will check in at 12 noon, still they didn't hesitate to give us a temporary room to put our things. ( because the rooms are still occupied)||||What i liked at El Dawn Inn:||* Ate Julie, ( the cousin of the owner) is approachable, and easy to talk to. They are accommodating that made our stay a relaxing one.||* They lend us their rice cooker.||* The room has clean comfort room.||* The room's space is good for 4 persons.||* The air conditioner is in good condition, looks like brand new, and is super cold.||* Location is in the front beach.||||What "I kinda" dislike about:||* The comfort room has no hot water. Taking a bath is a challenge to me, because the water is freezing cold.||*the stairs going to our room is kinda steep. (I will not recommend getting the rooms on the second floor for older people.)||||BUT overall, our stay in El Dawn Inn is a great one. If we're going back to Baler, I will not hesitate to stay there again. The location of it, being near the beach is a big plus points to them, and the location is quite, far from the noise of those big hotels. you can really have a relaxing stay. and the view of the sunrise and sunset is ♥!||||||Additional info:||- Room for 4pax is Php 2500/day (peak season)||- The room has 1 twin bed and 1 Queen sized bed.||- They also have a room for two persons - Php 1500/ day (peak season)||- The location is near AMCO beach resort, just past after Aliya Surf Camp Resort.||- If you want to go surfing and you're a first timer, they will charge you Php 350 - with the Instructor and the use of their surfing boards...

Had to share my experience with El Dawn Inn. I usually not do this but I have to warn others and be cautious.||||I called El Dawn Inn a 3 weeks in advance to book a room for 2, the staff asked if can send money via LBC which I felt hesitant doing so with all the scams out there so I asked if it will be ok if I would rather settle it there upon check in and she said yes that would be fine. I even asked twice to make sure that it would not affect my reservation; again she confirmed that its ok and she'll still reserve a room for us.||||A week prior to our vacation I called to check and confirm, to my dismay and frustration I found out that I had no reservations under my name. If I had known that sending money would affect our reservation I would have done so. I got furious and so frustrated knowing that it will be impossible for us book a hotel at Baler a few days prior to the stay. At the end of it all we had to cancel our long awaited vacation since we can no longer secure a room to stay in. Good thing I checked than to spend a night on the streets..||||Take my advice AVOID this place to find...

If youre planning to stay here I would strongly recommend you not to..||Im lost for words with what happened with my reservation that ended up with us canceling our vacation. ||What happened was I called 3 weeks prior to our stay to reserve a room and was able to talk to one of thier staff. She then confirmed and booked us that day according to her.||I called again a few days before our trip to confirm and to my surprise I had no rooms reserved under my name. ||Good thing I called to check and if I did not my family would have no place to go knowing that on weekends specially during peak days of summer its quite impossible to get a room at Baler. I knew that for a fact thats why I booked 3 weeks in advance.||The entire vacation now got canceled since we no longer can find a hotel that can accommodate us since all were fully booked. ||So again if you have plans on staying here take my advice...
