We all the time enjoy our stay at Seda, our choice of hotel in Cagayan de Oro City. Housekeeping Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Reception Staff are also very welcoming...
The Buffet, our favorite place to visit, serves above average breakfast fare. I just hope that their wait staff, specially those behind the counter can act professionally, and pay more attention to their guests, instead of their chismis...
Last July 8, I went to the dining area, and while waiting for my other family members, I asked for a cup of coffee, and sat on a high chair at the bar/counter. The Service Staff were accommodating enough, but when the other Service Staff would come in to start their shift, they would talk to the other members of their team, including the Female Service Staff on the Cashier's Corner, in a tone of voice which could be heard by others who do not need to hear what they are talking about... They talked about issues that did not relate to their work at that point in time... they were talking about what happened the night before, what their colleagues did, their funny experiences, etc. I am Bisaya, so I could understand what they were talking about. I was reading the newspaper, so it did not really make for a relaxing early morning coffee experience. Although most of them are very accommodating, the Service Staff act as if their guests do not see them behind he counter, which is just waist-high.
I believe that professional work staff leave personal issues behind the door once they enter the confines of their work stations. This was what was lacking in that scenario. I am not sure, but since not all of them were wearing the same uniform, I am inclined to believe that the others were Interns. Nevertheless, the behavior of even those who were in their official uniform behaved in the same manner as everyone else...
Proper work mind set is lacking...
The opposite could be said about the Service Staff in the Executive Lounge. Very accommodating and pleasant...
Overall, Seda Centrio makes for a very enjoyable place to stay.

Read more5 Night stay in December 2022; Convenient location located right next door to the Ayala Centrio mall, but during the day the area is choked in traffic and exiting or returning to the hotel is very frustrating! There is nothing the hotel can do to resolve this problem, it's something that the local government should sort out.
I stayed for 5 nights at the hotel and overall I was disappointed. My room was drab and dreary looking, as is the rest of the hotel, and it's badly in need of refurbishment. All the furnishings and fittings are worn, and look bland, cheap and tacky.
The Internet service in my room was extremely unreliable (I measured the speed on numerous occasions, the max speed I obtained was 4.5mb which for a supposed 4-star hotel is very poor) and the service kept dropping when I was trying to use it. Very annoying. I was using the Internet on two devices - my laptop and my cell phone. Every day or so it kept logging me out on both devices meaning I had to waste time logging in again. I had booked for 5 nights, after the first time I logged in why wasn't I kept logged in until I checked out?
The floor in the shower room is very slippery when wet, and it's very dangerous. It looks like they used wall tiles on the floor which are not suitable for use on the floor. They should have used proper floor tiles which are slip-resistant. There is a shower mat provided in the bathroom, if you stay at the hotel make sure you use it.
The breakfast buffet; I would give it 3 out of 5. The service from the staff was helpful and friendly and the quality and variety of food available was good but on more than one day they let some items of food run out, they need to pay more attention and monitor the food and when they see items running low they need to make sure it's replenished before it runs out! The hotel was listed as a 4-star hotel and I expected better. Overall I would rate it 2 out of 5.

Read moreLocation. Location. Location. That's one of the best things about this hotel. Park your car underground and, voila, you are next door to Centrio Mall. Inside the mall is a supermarket, Marketplace, which made our lives easier. The hotel is also walking distance to other major shopping malls.
All the staff we interacted with had pleasant demeanour. They were professional --- polite and prompt. Special mention goes to two bellhops, Carter and Ray, who were always on hand to help us carry our luggage and assist us pull out of the tight parking stalls. The check-in and check-out went smoothly.
I would have given Seda 5 stars but the management needs to look into a few things that detract from a five-star experience: (1) The aircon's thermostat wasn't working. It was downright cold all the time! We had to turn the aircon off and on several times at night to get a decent sleep. (2) The bottom door seal of the shower stall's door has hardened and needs replacing. A significant amount of water seeped into the bathroom floor, outside the shower area, whenever we took a shower. Water on the bathroom floor poses risks, e.g., slipping and falling, especially to seniors like us. (3) The safety deposit box's batteries were low. We were unable to use it but informed the front desk about it during checkout. Checking if the SDB works should be part of the routine when prepping a room for new guests. (4) Fresh towels should be provided daily. Towels used the previous day tend to be still damp the next morning given the...
