SM CDO Downtown Premier — Local services in Cagayan de Oro

Just a walking distance from our houses and together with the other neighboring BIG malls it just made the entire Lapasan area the most expensive street address in Cagayan de Oro!

These malls near our homes just increases the value of our properties!

However even in its soft opening this mall have the best exterior & interior of all the malls in CDO the glass railings and glass elevators. It appears the tallest but I don't think it is BIGger than Lim Ket Kai or more sosyal than Centrio or Ketkai. However there's only one elevator! And two CR which are crowded! And worst no benches that shoppers could take a seat and relax! The prices of SM are reasonably priced but their groceries are more expensive than Savemore and as expensive as Rustan's! Plus I don't like the yellow cellophane plastic bag coz it looks ugly and an eyesore to look at.

The prices of groceries at SM are not consistent with their shelves pricetags & should be cheaper coz this mall isn't catering for the upper class. The upper class shops at Rustans groceries bcoz of the prestige of the brand and the shopping experience for desame price as SM groceries supposedly targeting middle class.

Also SM groceries product lineup and selections isn't complete! They don't have Whiskas cat foods and Del Monte Fit & Rite tapos iba pa ang prices sa shelves na mas mahal na sa resibo.

With that said I will never do my groceries at SM again but I will still buy at SM Department Store coz their prices are as good or better than Robinson's but Robinson's is my choice for groceries, kahit ninakawan ako doon ng expensive Parker pen sa baggage counter at minanyak ng security guard etc I have no choice coz based on all factors Robinson's groceries is better for me among all competitors.

For branded goods I will shop at Centrio kasi pareho lang naman ng prices sa mga branded shops sa SM at Ketkai and like I said the branded shops at Centrio looks more sosyal and sulit ang shopping experience. But the best jewelry stores in CDO are in Lim Ket Kai and I'm into jewelries! SM Department Store however have the best reasonably priced accesories compared to Rustans and Robinsons.

Beautywise my best mall in CDO is still Lim Ket Kai, followed by Centrio and SM CDO...

The five-storey mall features anchor stores like The SM Store with three levels of shopping space, SM Supermarket, SM Bowling, and SM Cinemas, with seven theaters. It has service centers, specialty stores and restaurants and indoor parking spaces.

Underneath the mall is a rainwater catchment basin measuring 75 x 40 meters floor area and as high as 6 meters which can hold up to 13,650 cubic meters of water to reduce the risk of flooding.

One of the mall's main attractions is the first-ever large-screen format theater in the city, called Megascreen, equipped with a Christie 6P laser projection system that produces the brightest images and most accurate reproduction of colors from the actual movie set and uses Dolby Atmos Sound System on Christie Vive Speakers, along with two Director's Club theaters for extraordinary cinema comfort and four digital cinemas offering 2D and 3D technologies to movie-goers.

My first time to enter this particular SM Mall in CDO. I was impressed with the mall, particularly with the tenant stores that I saw, although we didn't have much time to really go around and see all the mall had to offer. But I was awed by the sight of children who were already allowed inside the mall after a long time that minors were prohibited due to the pandemic. I had goosebumps seeing children with their parents excitedly going around and shopping probably for the first time after more than a year of staying home.

I went to the children's wear and toys departments to buy something. I was glad to see many children especially at the toys department. Display was nice and ready for the Christmas season.

The lobby of the mall has a nice Christmas display of a giant Christmas tree and an eye-catching, beautiful peacock. While there were many shoppers in the mall, I noticed several security personnel aroud the mall and even in the department store bearing reminders for people to wear mask and faceshield.

The elevator attendant was very pleasant and courteous. She even sincerely wished everyone a Merry Christmas everytime they got out.
