Here's my presonal review of Raki-Yata Ramen Ayala Centrio
Location: 5/5 Food and Drinks: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 5/5
Overall Feedback:
The Location Great location inside Ayala Mall. They are facing the garden and easily distinguishable when you enter the mall from the main entrance. The mall has parking and PWD friendly that adds value to their location.
The Space The store is well decorated and celebrates Japanese theme as it should. The decor of wood, cloth, lanterns, matched with color choice that is eye catching. The Japanese pop wall art also look great.
The Food I was there when they first opened in 2019 and I tell you the HUGE improvement of their soup base from day 1 to today. I almost didn't comeback after that first experienve but they kept improving. The soup base used to be bland and watery but now, the thickness and umami of the soup has elevated over the past years and they have found the sweet spot. You have an option for thin or thick noodles as well as spicy or not spicy soup. The egg has flavor too. The pork has also improved as it used to be overcooked. The gyoza also became more flavorful from the first year they opened.
Today, this is the best ramen here in Cagayan de Oro beating the rest with the overall experience from food to decor. My staple orders are gyoza and Ramen.
The Service The staffs are very corteous, attentive and greets customers. Food is served fast even when the store is full.
Value for Money This is on the higher end of price but a Great value for money!
Do I recommend this place? Absolutely! Raki-Yata Ramen ranks one in Cagayan...
Read moreEarlier today, my husband and I ordered a pot of green tea, some gyoza, oishi maki, and the tonkotsu shoyu ramen bowl. This is our first time dining in Raki Yata Ramen btw.
The gyoza was fine.
The oishi maki tasted cheap but tolerable.
The tonkotsu ramen tasted bland. I had to add a bit of soy sauce to the broth to make the taste bareable. I do like the tenderness of the meat though. But then again, it would've been better if it were more flavorful and if the pricing wasn't unreasonable. (460+ pesos for a single bowl)
Lastly, the pot of green tea costs 95 pesos. But what did you give us? A pot of hot water. We were wondering why we couldn't taste anything. And the color of the "tea" was clear. I'm not sure if you forgot to steep the "tea" but it seems like it. After talking to a waiter about it, he gave us a new pot with a tea bag inside it. Now the "tea" tastes like tea. It should've tasted like tea the second you served it on our table. And it was also the first item that was being served. I just can't believe that steeping the tea was overlooked.
As for the service, it's the bare minimum. It's not good. And it's not that horrible. They did their jobs. Although, I feel like they could have done so much better. They could've been more accommodating and interactive, especially since they're working in a place like raki yata ramen.
Overall, this was such a poor experience for my husband and I. It is not worth the hype. I am sure that there are better authentic ramen shops out there with much more reasonable prices and better service. For sure, we are never going to dine in this...
Read moreI enjoyed the ramen here. For the price it better be nice. Thick noodles (You can opt for thin ones), but there was something off about it. The ramen was creamy, flavorful & not too salty. The egg wasn't overcooked. First time having it with actual corn kernels mixed in the broth. Nice twist.
Had the pork ramen by the way. Forgot the name. I just asked the lady what she'd recommend as I always do when not sure what to pick (Or maybe I found their menu confusing).
What I kinda didn't like was the service. All of the staff were probably at the kitchen. With the restaurant's table & kitchen arrangements, parts of the dining area are blocked when your POV is from the kitchen. They shouldn't be all at the kitchen area if they are with the dining area service crew. Thus it took a while to take my order. Good thing I was busy with the menu.
Then when my order came in, they did not give me chopsticks. At least they provided a spoon. I had to get up & call someone at the kitchen for chopsticks. The table I was at had no condiments, no tissues. The crew certainly missed that when she took my order, or the one who served me the bowl. I can see other tables had those extras, even had spare chopsticks. Couldn't even be bothered to serve me water when I asked for one when I ordered. Lousy really.
Well I went there for the ramen. Can't say it was bad ramen. But service...
