I would have given this a 5 star but I let me explain why...
I stayed here for quarantine purposes due to protocols. Well, still I am grateful that I got this place. Clean, comfortable, and let's say I was lucky to get the corner place with big windows. I didn't feel immediately boredom because of the big windows where I can peep to the outside world. 🤭🤭🤭
Though I wasn't able to meet and greet their staffs most of the time due to protocol, but I find them accommodating, helpful and cheerful every time I called the reception and asked anything/assistance.
The food, I got the chance to taste their Marghareta Pizza only. Uhm, it's okay. Though I'd love it if more if it will be overloaded with cheese as it should be 😉. I tried my best to resist on buying their food because it was quiet pricy and of course I'm alone, I couldn't consume their serving and it will be a wastage only.
Unfortunately, the food being served as quarantine person was not that excellent. I mean, yes, thank you for the food, but I hope they will improve. I believe that mostly who were/will be quarantined here are OFWs - I hope they will serve with good food. Good food means, something that is not just for the sake of food. I appreciated the gesture and efforts whoever beyond this, but I hope there will be improvement. The 'ulam' is not enough and I think there is more tastier than those. 7-8 days in the quarantine facility will make you bored and everything that even food will make you smile if you have a good one. I hope authorities will see this point.
Anyhow, my stay in Mezzo Hotel was quiet okay compared to other friends I've known who went for vacation too on the same dates.
Thank you for our safety. Thank you for bearing our demands and needs. Thank you for accommodating us. May God...
Read moreWe attended my bestfriend's wedding last June 14 and this is where the reception was held. When we arrived, we were shocked to see how small the venue was. It does say it can accommodate up to 100pax so as a preparation my friend then requested to have a bigger venue and they were told they have to add additional cost for it so they paid to get the bigger function room. What's more disappointing is that it was the same venue (small one) than what was agreed by the couple. It was too cramped we couldn't even move that much. The tables and chairs are too close to each other!!
Secondly, the food itself is so bland we couldn't taste anything. According to my friend, the aggreed main dishes are different from what was served! Instead of getting HONEY GLAZED CHICKEN, they prepared CHICKEN INASAL. The BREADED FISH FILLET is tough to swallow, it's overcooked! (mind you it was my first time eating a fish fillet that is not at least a cream dory type of fish). You would really see how unsavory the food was because there were a lot of leftovers in each table, especially the breaded fish fillet!! Also, they have Muslim guests and they couldn't stomach what they witnessed so they had to leave without eating anything. It's very insulting!!
What should be a very memorable event to the couple turned out to be a shameful one! They only took the money but the service is horrible!! 100% not recommended to anyone ever! The couple actually tried to reach out to Mezzo Hotel but it's more than 2 weeks now and they haven't heard back from them. What a poor customer service!!! They should at least respond to the email formally on what should be the action plan to uphold their so called "haven of...
Read moreMezzo Hotel, Cebu - A Balanced Stay for Specific Needs I recently stayed at Mezzo Hotel in Cebu for a friend's wedding event hosted at the venue. Here's my honest take:
Pros:
Cleanliness: The hotel looks clean overall, with rooms that are well-maintained and inviting. Location: Its proximity to good dining spots like Tamp and Co. is a definite plus, making it convenient to explore nearby eateries. Event Convenience: If you're attending an event at the hotel, staying here is undeniably practical.
Cons:
Staff Approachability: While not rude, the hotel staff—especially the manager or senior staff—lacked the warmth I’ve experienced in other Cebu hotels. This slightly impersonal service could be improved. Early Check-In Policy: My request for an early check-in, just 15 minutes before the standard time, wasn’t accommodated, and I learned that early check-ins typically come with an additional charge. This might be understandable given the busy weekend crowd, but a little flexibility would’ve gone a long way. Common Area Maintenance: The hallway carpets and lounge sofas were visibly in need of better upkeep. These details detract from the otherwise clean feel of the hotel. Breakfast Feedback: I skipped the breakfast based on a friend’s review that it was average—something to keep in mind if you’re looking for a standout morning meal.
Overall Verdict: Mezzo Hotel is a decent choice, especially for attending events or staying in a convenient area of Cebu. However, for the price, I’d hope for better maintenance of common areas and a friendlier service approach. If their rates were more competitive, I’d consider...
