Dined in last Saturday. We were 6th in the waiting line so I already had expectations service was going to take time. But didn’t expect to wait as long as we did 🥲
We ordered quite a number of dishes, a couple of our selections weren’t available and we were informed half an hour later that another one wasn’t available.
Service took really long even just for water. We had to wait 20mins just to get water. Fastest was the bowl of rice 😅
First couple dishes came after about 30-35mins of waiting. Then another couple more after another 15-20mins. Our main dishes (ramen, udon & yakisoba) got to us after another 30mins of waiting. There were about 4 groups seated about 10-15mins after we ordered but they got what seems to be most of their orders first before we got our first main dish. We had to follow up 5x. By the time the rest of the food came, we’ve already lost our appetites and only had a few bites before requesting for them to be packed for take out.
They also served us the wrong dish twice 😅
Another disappointing thing about their service is they didn’t give us spoons for our noodles. I don’t usually have a problem with this but we tried to get the attention of 3 different servers. I eventually decided to just get up myself and go to their service counter to get spoons so we could eat.
The only thing that kept us from getting upset was their playlist…they were playing 90s anime songs and made the waiting bearable.
Most of the food we ordered tasted great. The noodle dishes we ordered were just so-so probably because of the long wait time the noodles were already pretty soggy. We would’ve enjoyed it more if the service was better. I don’t think they were short staffed too as all the other larger groups seated after us were served very timely.
Would’ve loved to try their other dishes too and the server assigned to us was apologetic but unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be coming back not unless it’s...
Read moreNewly opened Japanese Restaurant. Lots of fanfare and hoopla. Association with another restaurant and Japanese chefs. So what do you get? Walk in the door and it's bright, clean and Instagrammable. But had to seat ourselves and a I can't be bothered waitress drops off menus without a greeting or glance. Luckily another waiter came and rescued the experience. Ordered 6 dishes and not impressed, the legend of previous Chibori expertise is not in the Ten Don or spicy salmon roll. Both dishes were bitter. The sauce on the ten don ruins the rice and makes it unedible. what I assume was ginger did not belong inside my sashimi roll. I was glad the simple Saba was what I was hoping for. Matcha Ube shake was a pleasant surprise. Another disappointment was the Tuna tataki. Try serving with toasted sesame seeds could have made this dish something more than seared plain tuna. Jumbo Ebi Fried was the signature dish. A odd looking fried shrimp served on a metal hanging device and cut for you at your table. Came to the table still dripping cooking oil and accompanied by a tartar mayo sauce. Suggest a sirachi mayo would be 100% better. Maybe I chose the wrong dishes or maybe it's just not what I was expecting. Either way the portions are big, the prices are cheap and you might not find a better japanese restaurant to take...
Read moreAte here expecting more from their food and service but left really disappointed. The staff rushed to take our bill when we just started our meal, and continued to stand and wait until we would pay. I could hardly call it enjoyable when we were asked to pay the bill when not all of our dishes even arrived yet, and to top it off, our order was given to another table. Truly, it was difficult to enjoy the meal while being rushed to pay because the staff repeatedly went to our table to collect our payment.
Flavor-wise, I suggest you take your money elsewhere unless they improve because the ramen was bland, the crunchy rolls were not crunchy, and the rest of the dishes lacked flavor. Considering that it’s a newly opened restaurant, I was willing to give it a try, however, the way their staff handled our group was really off-putting. Hope to see this restaurant last and...
