I really like the vibe of this place; a lot of effort has gone into the interior design. They seem to be appealing to a modern, younger crowd while still honoring the essence of a traditional Chinese restaurant. The entrance features a charming Chinese gate-like structure, with door patterns and decorative elements throughout. I loved the marumado (moon window), colorful lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and the anime-inspired murals. Even before the food arrives, the atmosphere is engaging and visually appealing.

Now, onto the food. Although we were new to the menu, the staff recommended the pick-your-own-ingredients Malatang bowl. Initially, we opted for the fixed menu, selecting the spicy beef noodles, but unfortunately, they were unavailable. Instead, I ordered the Spicy Wonton Soup, while my friend chose the Dumplings. For snacks, we wanted chicken popcorn, but that was also unavailable, so we settled for chicken bites, which the staff described as stick-shaped rather than the wider popcorn variety.

The food arrived in a reasonable time—not exactly fast-food speed, but it was understandable. When it did arrive, everything was piping hot. I found the wonton soup enjoyable; I was pleasantly surprised to discover that wontons are more akin to siomai or dumplings rather than noodles. The texture was delightful, with a soft exterior and a flavorful pork filling. The soup was rich with chili garlic sauce—while not overly spicy, it did make me cough a bit, perhaps due to a little extra capsaicin. The special dumpling was also great, packed with garlic that enhanced the flavor profile. However, I felt the chicken bites were a bit lacking in quantity for the price.

Continuing our meal, we decided to try the pick-your-own-ingredients Malatang bowl. I let my friend choose the ingredients. The pricing is straightforward: each gram costs 1 peso, with a minimum of 300 grams or 300 pesos. My friend primarily picked mushrooms, and despite the overwhelming number of options, it was a rewarding experience. We ended up with a mushroom-based Malatang featuring spicy noodles, which turned out fantastic. It included free misua noodles, and there were additional options like potato noodles. The serving size was generous, and I understand why the staff recommended it. They even inquired if we were dining in since it was our second order.

The ingredients were cooked perfectly, enhancing the overall eating experience, even with the same chili garlic sauce. While it wasn't too spicy, it remained flavorful. There were powders on the table to enhance the flavor to your liking, which added a nice touch.

I am eager to return and perhaps try the Malatang bowl with a seafood variant next time. While the price of 1 peso per gram may seem high, you definitely get your money’s worth with just 300 pesos, and even 400 pesos would be sufficient for two people, as the restaurant doesn’t skimp on misua quantity. I recommend this restaurant, though the variety of ingredients can be a bit overwhelming. Planning your choices ahead of time or being flexible while ordering is advisable; it will turn out well either way. The staff is friendly, and one cook even took the time to explain what was available or missing. I noticed the server spoke Korean to a family at a nearby table, which appeared to be regulars.

My only critique is that while the food is excellent, there’s still room for improvement. The soup could benefit from a richer broth beneath the garlic and chili sauce. Additionally, while the Malatang bowl is a highlight, the restaurant should ensure that the rest of the menu items are readily available. I was particularly disappointed not to try the spicy beef noodles. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and look forward to...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Yang Hero, a captivating Chinese restaurant that left me utterly impressed. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service, making my visit truly memorable.

The dedicated crew at Yang Hero deserves a special mention for their outstanding hospitality. Every staff member I encountered was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to make my dining experience extraordinary. Their genuine passion for their work shone through as they guided me through the menu, patiently answering all my questions and ensuring that each dish exceeded my expectations.

Not only does Yang Hero boast a remarkable team, but it also has an owner who is an epitome of beauty, both inside and out. The owner's charm and grace are apparent in the way she interacts with guests, creating an ambiance that radiates positivity and joy. Her passion for Chinese cuisine is contagious, as she goes the extra mile to ensure every aspect of the dining experience is flawless.

Now, let's talk about the food! Yang Hero takes Chinese cuisine to new heights with its delectable array of dishes. Each dish I sampled was a symphony of flavors and textures that left me craving for more. From the delicate dim sum to the tantalizing Sichuan specialties, every bite was an explosion of culinary excellence. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was artful, and the flavors were perfectly balanced.

The restaurant's ambiance adds to the overall charm of Yang Hero. The tastefully decorated interior, with its subtle Chinese influences and modern touches, creates an inviting and elegant atmosphere. Whether you're planning a romantic dinner or a celebratory gathering, Yang Hero provides the perfect setting to create lasting memories.

To complement the impeccable food and service, Yang Hero boasts an impressive selection of beverages, including exquisite teas and well-crafted cocktails. The staff's expertise in suggesting pairings further enhanced my dining experience, elevating the flavors and allowing me to savor the authentic taste of China.

In conclusion, Yang Hero is an absolute gem that captures the essence of Chinese cuisine with finesse. From the remarkable crew to the exceptionally beautiful owner, the dedication and passion poured into every aspect of this establishment are commendable. I wholeheartedly recommend Yang Hero to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience that combines excellent service, exquisite flavors, and an ambiance that exudes warmth and sophistication.

Rude Staff and Poor Service

We arrived at 9 PM, far before closing time. The staff let us in and took our orders without informing us of any early closing. However, after we sat down, we overheard them making indirect remarks about being "disappointed that we were still there even though they were already closing", mind you, this was still 9 PM, and they had already taken our orders without any notice of early closure. Worse, they started slamming things around before even serving our food.

When we finally began eating, there were still five other tables with customers dining. Yet, the staff started cleaning up right in front of us; rearranging tables, mopping the floor, and aggressively handling items, making it clear that they wanted us to leave.

The highlight of our bad experience? We noticed there was no tissue on our table, which should be a standard, especially for a soup-based restaurant. When we politely requested some tissues, a staff member responded with a FOUL FACIAL EXPRESSION, REFUSED TO MAKE EYE CONTACT, and then AGGRESSIVELY TOSSED the TISSUES onto our table instead of handing them over properly.

To make things worse, by 10 PM, the sign at the front door still said "Open," yet the staff continued making passive-aggressive remarks and giving displeased expressions, clearly annoyed that we were still dining.

This entire situation could have been avoided if they had simply informed us in advance that they were closing earlier than usual. We arrived at 9 PM and started eating at 10 PM... well within their standard business hours. If they didn't want customers at that hour, they should have just told us upfront instead of making us feel unwelcome.

On top of this, the tables and chairs had a lot of tiny cockroaches: see...
