The worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at in whole Southeast Asia. Looks like this hostel was designed by people who’ve never stayed in a hostel before: - one toilet and one shower for 8 people is ambitious - what is a TV doing in a hostel room??? - no lockers and no space to put your stuff. It gets VERY MESSY (not the guests fault. The owners rather put a TV and table & chairs instead of some lockers or shelves. - no hooks or other solutions to hang your wet towels and swimwear. While people literally go to Coron to do water activities! - no exhaust or ventilation in the shower. - when you step out of the room, you’re directly on the side of the road. There’s no fences. Such a weird layout. THE DIRTIEST HOSTEL I’VE EVER BEEN TO. They “clean” the bathrooms only once a day. And you share it with 7 other people. I begged the cleaning staff to clean our toilet the day we checked in because it was very dirty. Well, they didn’t. My partner ended up cleaning it by himself. Staff are super friendly but don’t really do their job, EXCEPT FOR THE SECURITY GUY. They overwork the security guy/driver. It seems like he works 06:00-23:00. He even checks people in and out. I hope he gets a fair compensation. I get that it’s a very affordable accommodation. All I expected was a basic, clean space to sleep in. But even with the most basic stuff they miss the mark.

Fantastic Stay at J&J Homestay in Coron – Highly Recommended! I stayed at J&J Homestay for a week and had an amazing experience! The location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk to the city center, making it super convenient for exploring Coron. The room was very clean, with hot shower and AC, all at a very affordable price. The common area is open until 10 PM, which was great for relaxing in the evening. The owner family was incredibly kind and helpful, always making sure I had everything I needed. Special shout-out to their bright and cute son—he was such a joy to be around! They also offer food, laundry, bike rentals, tour bookings, and van services, which made my stay even more hassle-free. If I ever return to Coron, I’ll definitely stay here again! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly, and budget-friendly place in Coron.

Decent rooms. Had to transfer rooms and they were kind enough to help with my transfer. The owners and staff were nice and accommodating. They suggested places that we need to visit and they were right! Should you decide to stay, you can arrange your tour with them. Their partner tour agency is nice enough to pick you up for your tour and drop you off after. And if you want to rent a motorcycle, you can also ask them and they'll arrange it for you. Location is near Mt. Tapyas and is just walking distance to town. It was such an amazing experience staying in Coron with nice and accommodating hosts! Only thing I'd suggest is to have more breakfast options 👍🏼

Stay: June 26, 2024 to July 2, 2024

This is the best homestay I personally had experience in my years of travelling. the whole staff and owner will treat you like family. travelled with 8 of my friends and family. we all had the same great experience in this beautiful place. it is really a home away from home.

room:

the room is beautiful, smells good and clean. bunks are spacious and has bed curtains for privacy. AC is working good and very cold.

Pool:

the pool has its very stunning view over Coron town and islands. we relaxed in their pool on our last day and it was amazing. they even assisted us with preparing our foods.

Staff:

the staffs are very courteous and attentive to us on our requests and needs. I had never seen them not smiling at us during the whole entire stay. always checks on us and helps us with recommendations about the island on food , tours and transportations.

Location: it is near Mt. Tapyas and near the coron town center. you can walk going to the town within few minutes. the place has a nice neighborhood that is quite and relaxing.

We highly recommend this place if your looking for cheap accommodation, great service and worth your money. we will definitely come back and book again in...

Bad homestay that matches a bad town.

Where do I start:

Checked in. No lockers had to call another hostel, and then they gave me another room with a locker. I was asked to leave my laptop and passport with the dodgy reception.

Once checked in, the real fun began

I was given food that I think was tampered with as retaliation for the check-in problems. Ended up having to call the police for food tampering.

They initially refused to book a pickup to the port and only booked when the owner made him, even then refused to give an estimated price. Ended up walking, didn't trust them.

I had to print a ticket for the ferry. He lied and said no printer only photo copy. Sent me on a wild goose chase in town for an hour. Found the owner, and she printed it straight away.

There is no pool that's social, was never even shown where it was only told it's broken.

The rooms open straight to the street, and the online pictures are deceiving.

The beds were comfy, had privacy curtains, but no anti fall rails on the top bunks.

The female owner and her son are friendly, and the tours are good. The rest was one of the worst experiences I've ever had, primarily from one...
