Le Voyage — Restaurant in Coron

Simply put, this place is overpriced for what you are served.

We had a group of 6, were seated and ordered all of our dishes. 25 minutes go by and I’m notified that the pesto pasta isn’t available. Why did it take 25 minutes for the kitchen to notice an order was put through that isn’t available? I order the lasagna instead for 450p (very expensive).

After around an hour, we begin to receive our food. One member ordered the falafel balls with hummus (480p). She received 2 tablespoons of hummus and 4 large pita bread, with 4 falafel balls. The falafel is not fresh, it’s very crispy and dry. She had to use a knife and fork to cut into it. She ordered more hummus for the amount of pita she had and received a different hummus to the original which lacked the flavour of the first - zero consistency.

I receive the lasagna, which for the price you’d expect to get a filling serving. It was not, and to top it off the tomato pasta/sauce it’s served with tastes like ketchup.

Another member ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls which is meant to come with a peanut sauce. What she received was literally Kraft crunchy peanut butter from the jar. This is laughable and is the only photo I took of our meals.

And to top it off, the kitchen started smoking heavily, the entire restaurant was full of smoke to the point our eyes were watering. We all just had to laugh because it was the most shocking service experience we’ve had in 7 months of travelling south east Asia.

The prices are eye watering and so is the smoke in the restaurant. You can find better elsewhere for half the cost.

Only positive were the staff were friendly. Hostel food is better than this...

After giving this restaurant a second chance, we have left feeling more disappointed than the first time.

We came to Le Voyage after seeing some photos on their google review, in particular the lasagne caught our eye.

We ordered the vegetarian lasagne which was a grisly 40 minute late. What came out was oily vegetables in stir-fried sauce, layered within pasta sheets. Horrific. Not lasagana. We thought that’s fine - maybe we picked the wrong meal, maybe the image we saw was the vegan moussaka.

We came back for a second try today and showed the waitress the photo and stressed to her that that’s what we wanted. She was adamant that the photo was a vegan lasagne and proceeded to tell us that what we ordered yesterday was a ‘VEGGIE’ lasagne and this was a ‘VEGAN’ lasagne. We ordered it, waited ONE HOUR (mind you there was hardly anyone in the shop), and what came out was surprise surprise stir fried vegetables in pasta sheets. We stopped her and said this doesn’t look like the photo we just showed you and she went back to the kitchen, then came back out and told us that the photo was actually BEEF lasagana which they don’t even serve!

What an absolute waste of time waiting! The staff should familiarise themselves with the menu, listen to guests and clarify any uncertainties with the chef instead of confidently giving us wrong answers to...

Definitely the smallest smoothie bowls I’ve ever gotten and I’ve been getting them for several days now twice per day and every day I come it gets smaller and smaller and I leave so hungry as if I didn’t eat anything and they cost 340 pesos you can at least fill the already small bowls and be CONSISTENT. As you can see this isn’t the first review saying how small they are and the owners response was we will work on it but clearly it’s getting even smaller if you look at photos the smoothie bowls are full, mine have all been only half full and today was even less than that and I had to send it back and they just transferred to a different bowl which is smaller. Don’t just reply to reviews but make the changes. I am going elsewhere tomorrow and the next Few days I’m in Coron.

Edit: the managers response is complete lies you know you gave me a way smaller smoothie bowl today than I’ve gotten everyday I’ve been here, it wasn’t even a quarter of the bowl full and was full of like 20 pieces of banana to fill it up. I am more than happy to pay 340 as that is average but the size doesn’t meet that and many reviews say the same thing. Unfortunate how you guys clearly just want money and don’t care about what...
