Summary: I was scammed in the reception for a booked activity in Coron.
Forgot to write this review, this happened a few months back. There is nothing very relevant about this place, your average acommodation in Coron, but I was scammed by one of the female recepcionist here on January 2025. I said I wanted to book XX activity next day, I paid the full price, and was asked to be downstairs at 7am the next day. On the next day at 7am the other person in the reception said nobody had booked and of course not paid any activity.
I confronted this to 2 people, one of them I think was the person who stole the money, and it genuinely looked like one of them was acting well or had no idea. There was a lot of crying, implying if I didn't pay again they'd have to lose the wages to pay for it. I demanded to show the CCTV to at least prove I had paid, and even made was shown the CCTV app, but then the person who stole the money started to touch the phone and say the CCTV had not recorded properly the day before and refused to continue playing the video in high speed to find where I was.
So, of course I understand that for a European person the price of the scam will not bankrupt and genuinely we have much more purchasing power when we visit the Philippines. But on a 2 week trip, this was the only time I was scammed and then gaslighted I had never booked anything. My tip: get a confirmation in written form for EVERY thing, even if you drop to get your laundry, get the receipt that you paid a deposit. Take your proof, otherwise you will get scammed like I did and I had no written proof to defend myself.
I wish you choose another establishment, as there are many honest hard working people who deserve to take your money than...
Read moreMy siblings and i spent 3nights 4days here. We had the family room. Ms Andrea was very very accommodating, super nice lady who also happens to be the owner. We requested for 2 single beds instead of floor mattresses and she did just that for us. Staffs are very helpful, friendly and accommodating as well. The place is very accessible to all- town proper, and restaurants. One is just right across it- Verkada Grill( reviews on their site). A convenient store is attached to this place also so its very convenient for guests staying here. Complimentary Breakfast was great- we had choices of Longganisa, Tapa and Danggit, egg, garlic rice and coffee(3in1)which we had on the 3 days we were there. Rooms were cleaned daily. Sheets changed. With minimal cooking fee- We bought extra Corned Beef and requested for them to add to our breakfast. Downsides are- weak wifi in the room, intermitent or none at all. Out of 6 electrical outlets, only 3 were functioning and one was for the TV, leaving only 2 for charging your phones, iPad, GoPro, or PowerBank.. Only cold water for shower. The shower room is teeny bit tiny though. Although mosquito coil killer was placed right outside our bedroom door but there were still lots of mosquitoes inside the room. Ants too. The one thing that disturbed us the most was the incessant dog barkings at night. Overall, we would still recommend this place to others. The pros outweigh the cons so to speak. This might be a 2star, but the service was 5star. Thank you Ms Andrea and to your staff for a very pleasant and...
Read moreWhat you should know is that the transport to and from the Busuanga airport is pretty well organized, shared vans are waiting outside after each flight to take you to your hotel for 250 per head. On the route back the hotel should book the van for you at the needed time. Vans are running all day in 30 minute intervals. The day before our checkout the lady at the reception asked us what time our flight is, and after we told her she claimed that the last shared van is leaving way earlier than we needed to go. She was quick to offer us private transport instead for 1500 (3times as much as we would normally pay). As we knew it is unlikely that we are the only people flying out in the afternoon we didnt take her up on this offer. We were able to speak to one of the van drivers who confirmed that there are vans running in the afternoon, and asked him to pick us up from the hotel at the needed time. What ended up happening? After waiting for the van over 30minutes and the driver confirming that he's coming soon, we got another call that apparently the van got a flat tyre and is not able to pick us up in time. Well, I wonder what happened to the other passengers. After 10 seconds from receiving the call a private van drives by the lodge asking if we need transport to the airport. What a convenient coincidence, you think? Clearly the hotel staff is very busy running their own transport scheme...
