Balai Adlao is a posh 3-star hotel located at Lio Beach, offering an affordable stay in the Lio Tourism State.
The property is conveniently close to the beach and surrounded by restaurants and a drug store. We appreciated the proximity to the beach, which provided stunning views and easy access. The location also offers great sunset views and is near the airport, making it possible to watchand enjoy air traffic. The hotel provides free transportation to and from the airport, just a 5-minute drive away.
The rooms are simple and come with different bed configurations. While the air conditioning is adequate, it may struggle to keep the rooms cool on particularly hot days. The washrooms are also basic, providing essential amenities. If your room is situated at the back of the hotel, you might experience construction noise and unattractive balcony views due to ongoing construction work. The wood-lined flooring tends to accumulate dirt, possibly from sand from the beach. The water pressure is strong, but be careful when adjusting the water temperature during showers to avoid burns. Additionally, noise from nearby parties can be disruptive, and the rooms lack soundproofing. The hotel, being only two stories, lacks an elevator, making it less suitable for guests with mobility issues or families with young children due to steep staircases.
The property does not have a pool but offers a variety of free activities such as morning snorkeling, sunset cruises, and a dip in an inflatable sea pool. The guide and coordinator do an excellent job of arranging these activities and is friendly and accommodating.
Although Lio Beach offers an excellent beach experience, it can be expensive. Traveling to El Nido town proper requires a 20-minute trike ride that costs at least 300 pesos.
The staff at Balai Adlao are friendly and polite, though constrained by hotel policies. The front desk and housekeeping respond quickly to requests and provide warm smiles and greetings whenever you pass them. The on-site restaurant, Molave, is underrated and has potential. Breakfast is simple but presented elegantly. The hotel's standout feature is its attentive staff who take great care of every guest.
Overall, Balai Adlao is a great option for those looking to fully enjoy the Lio...
Read moreReally enjoyed our trip to El Nido staying at the Balai Adlao. It shows up as a 3 star destination, but I believe it is definitely worthy of 4. The rooms are a bit small and not super fancy. Any services we needed were available, including in room massage.
The location is right on the beach and it's a few minutes from the airport.
There is equipment available for surfing at an extra cost. If there's no one on the water, try and see if they will give you extra time with the equipment. I got a free hour as no one was renting, but by the time I dropped my board, there were 4 others surfing.
There are lots of restaurants around from Italian, which we really enjoyed the Clay Kitchen, seafood we enjoyed at the Red Crab and Filipino food from Globy was also great.
** Bottled water is hard to come by. They have filtered water, which I understand to be purified water and safe for tourists, I've been drinking it for days and haven't gotten sick yet. If I die tomorrow I will update the review.
Our room had a mini fridge and the ac worked well. I got a sore throat because the ac blew into our faces the first night and we had to turn the vent as far downwards as we could - that made things better.
The front desk is great for helping to book tours- and you MUST do an island hopping boat tour if you have not before!
Great sunset views from. The pier which separates the beach area from the restricted beach area as incoming planes are flying low on approach to the airport. Very cool watching the planes come in from the ocean!
We had a first floor room but noise was not a problem.
Aside from a party boat which runs on weekends there is NO nightlife. The beach bars all close up by 11...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay here. Great staff, peaceful environment and really close to the airport. They are also using renewable energy source! Every hotels have a solar panel. There are also dedicated smoking areas here.
We were welcomed by a free transfer to the hotel and Calamansi ginger juice at the reception. All of the staff are sending you good vibes - from the hotel staff and even roving security personnel are greeting you with a smile.
They are changing our bedsheets daily and rooms are cleaned daily. I also love that they are an advocate to refuse single use plastics. Body wash, shampoo and hand wash are placed on wall mounted pumps. The only thing that I notice is the inconsistent water pressure on the bathroom. This will affect the water temperature and we keep on adjusting the faucet to get the water flow into the shower head because of this. Not a big issue at all, but needs improvement.
Restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and even pharmacy are available here as well. It may take you 15-20mins if you are planning to go to the city proper, Also, it is expensive to go in and out since riding the tricycle costs 300 pesos one-way.
If you want to relax and uwind in El Nido, this is the place to be. ❤️ Will...
