Went there to eat with the wife. Its 8:32pm. Before looking at the menu, i ordered a san mig light, was not available. Ordered a red horse, wasnt available. So i figured I'd go simple and asked for sago't gulaman...also wasnt available. I jus ended up ordering a mango shake, which was pretty amazing. But not enough to save wat happened next. I then ordered a chicken & bangus fish from the surf and turf section of the menu. She then told me that there was no more chicken. So i asked if i can jus change it out with lechon kawali. She said not possible because it is already portioned. So i ordered a bangus separately and a lechon kawali separately and a garlic rice separately. Great...my wife ordered a mix seafood pot with cajun chilli because of the mussels. She really wanted mussels. But to my surprise, Mussels was also not available. So she jus decided to order a crab dish priced at 299 pesos per 100g. We were told that the min weight is 350g. So she figured why not. A few minutes later, server comes back and says only 400g crabs are available. Thats about 1200 pesos for a small crab, which the other table said to us wasnt worth it. So i asked her if she can add a small bowl of noodles to accompany the small crab since the beer i wanted, the chicken, and mussels my wife wanted wasnt available at 8:32pm. Again, she said it was not possible. So i told her to jus give me the bill for my mango shake and my wifes coconut juice. We saw her talk to the manager. Looked right at her to see what she would do. Not a single thing. Jus handed us the bill and no one came back after that. No apologies, no explanation...sad. and people come to El Nido expecting Filipinos to be the warmest people in the world. Clearly this review isnt about the food but the management style and the lack of ability to train their staff properly. I am so disappointed. So we just went next door to Manillo Beach Bay. Has a full bar, fully stocked, and a menu thats fully stocked. Great service and great pork bbq! If the owner is reading this, consider hiring someone who really knows the hospitality industry.
And yes...ive already posted...
Read moreOur visit to the Red Crab Alimango House was nothing short of a culinary adventure! This place is a hidden treasure for food enthusiasts like us. We embarked on a flavor journey, and let me tell you, it was a memorable one. The stars of the show? The crabs, of course! We savored both the Maritess and Singaporean Chili varieties, and they were simply divine.
But that's not all. We ventured into the world of Squid Sisig, and oh my, it was an explosion of scrumptiousness! It's a must-try for anyone who loves bold and savory flavors. And then there were the cocktails, folks. You can't miss out on these liquid delights. I personally went for the Mango with Gin, and let me tell you, it was the epitome of refreshment and yumminess!
What added to the charm of our experience was the fact that we were celebrating a friend's birthday. And let me tell you, Red Crab Alimango House did not disappoint as a celebration spot. The staff went out of their way to ensure our evening was special. They were incredibly accommodating and just downright nice. It's the kind of place where you not only leave with a satisfied stomach but also with a warm feeling in your heart.
In short, if you're in search of exceptional seafood, delightful cocktails, and an all-around great dining experience, make a beeline for Red Crab Alimango House. You'll thank me...
Read moreThe rating is accurate. We came here because the posters they had showed that they had crab. When we sat down, the waitress informed us that they didn't have the crab in the pictures, but smaller crabs that were part of the crab bucket. In retrospect, we probably should've still gotten that but we didn't, and went with the waitress' recommendation, which was the squid and shrimp sisig, and the inasal!, which is a grilled pork and chicken dish. We also came for happy hour, which they were accommodating because we got there very close to 6 pm, and the drinks were very strong.
However, the food was pretty lack luster - the shrimp were so small, and we only got 5 of them. The inasal was flavored well, but quite oily for a grilled dish. The MAJORITY of the pork was fat, so we couldn't really eat it. The chicken was ok. The spicy sauce that was included was good, but not something to make a trip out to eat. There are so many other places around with higher ratings. We clearly didn't look at the ratings before coming here - we hope that you do. The people were so nice though and the service was wonderful, but we were pretty disappointed with the food. Come for the drinks and atmosphere (very cute place)! If you do come, hopefully the food experience is...
