We stayed at Seda Lio resort from February 14 to 18, 2020. Resort is beautiful. Looks and feels like a 5 star resort. Staff exceptional friendly - they understand how to make you feel special. Well kept and beautifully designed resort. Clean. Pools (adult, kids and another smaller one) are fantastic and big enough to feel not crowded. Ocean at beach very calm, water warm, clear, with sand bottom as far as you can walk out. Beach is a bit shelly right at waters edge, but nice sand on rest of beach - very hot though. You can go for fairly long beach walk or run if that is your thing. Recommend getting the buffet breakfast - everything you could want. You can chose to eat indoors or out. Chefs change it up each day. Personal omelette chef was nice touch and delicious. We didn't eat lunch or dinner at the resort, but some of our travelling companions did and said it was also excellent. Our room, 310, with king bed was great. Nicely finished. Bed was on the firmer side versus softer, and we slept great. Shower was fantastic. We had a wonderful balcony, being on the third floor, and they give you a little drying rack for your wet stuff. Turn down service always provided a little tasty treat - more than just chocolates - which was a nice touch. They run their own water treatment plant, but you never saw it or smelled it, not even once, which was great. 5 minutes down the beach, with a nicely lit pathway at night, was two other small resorts and several open air restaurants, cafes and some stores right off of the beach, including a pharmacy if you forgot or needed anything. Prices surprisingly reasonable. Pork BBQ and BBQ squid at El Nido Grill was exceptional. Live bands each night playing great music until 9 pm, and you could still talk at the tables. I didn't where bug spray and was fine, although there are signs that says there are pikpiks in the area, so maybe it is seasonal. Although not absolutely necessary, we always like to tip the staff (cleaning, waiters/waitresses, bar keeps, ground keepers) - as they make incredibly little salary and we find they really appreciate it and go out of their way to make your stay even more perfect. We didn't take advantage of the kayaking or paddle boarding from the resort, so can't comment on it. Ordered a non-alcoholic pinacolada for the missus and they cut open a fresh coconut, poured the coconut water into a glass and gave it to us, and then made the drink in the coconut shell, with fruit and umbrella and all..... and it was good. Any kind of drinks, shakes, juices, pop and wine at very reasonable prices. Snacks at pool were great - lots to choose from. No snorkeling spots off the beach - you need to take a tour.
Landing at Porta Princessa and taking the 5 hours van ride to El Nido and the resort...after long plane rides...is a bit rough. Although the Palawonderful Adventure Travel & Tours vans were clean, comfortable, on-time, air conditioned, and the drivers great. They make a stop halfway for food, bathroom and stretching.
We did the Island hoping tour, with Hayahay Cruise El Nido, arranged at the front desk of the resort. They pick you up at the front of resort, drive you into town to the tour shop, and from there you do a 5 minute walk to the beach, dock and the boat in the bay. And when done, they drive you back to resort. This tour boat is one of the biggest in the bay, with a top deck that you can walk around on and a first level with lots of room and even side decks to enjoy. Other boats seemed much smaller with many only one narrow level. The tour includes a lunch that was just awesome - so much seafood and regular stuff -and even a snack later towards the end, when doing a sunset cruise back to port. RJ and Crew were awesome. This cruise also leaves at 11:00 am instead of 9:00 am, so you don't have to rush in the morning to get...

Read moreWe could not have been happier with our stay at Seda. This place just opened in August 2018 and blew us away. We have spent a lot of time at many 5 star resorts around the Pacific and this place is amazing. Our first day was stressful because our original place turned out to be a nightmare so we had to find a place last minute. We were so lucky to drive down the road to Lio Beach and find this place. It's quality is way above the average nightly fare. Not only that but the management helped make accommodations for twice the number of usual people in a room because of our situation. They were very hospitable and welcoming.
Amenities: The facilities are pristine. The gym is spacious and has great weights, not just cardio. They also have daycare abd a game room with PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One consoles in addition to air hockey and bean bags to hang out. Their spa is a beautiful outdoor complex separate from the main area to ensure peaceful relaxation. They also habe complimentary Wi-Fi!
Pool & Beach: The pool is comprised of 3 interconnected infinity pools with a fountain that light up at night and are beyond perfect at all times of the day. Nothing beats the lounge chairs that are in the pool. Great for day and night drinking and relaxing. The beach is beyond words. They have a natural tree barrier between the resort and the beach that is just enough to preserve the feel that the beach is a peaceful haven separate from civilization. In reality, you can see through the trees from the infinity pool to the ocean, so that view is still there if desired.
Food & Drinks: When they have fresh mangoes, Arlo the bartender makes the absolute best mango margarita you'll ever have...believe us since that is the first drink we order at every resort we go to!! Every morning that have a complementary breakfast buffet thatvat many places eould cost $40+ USD. It changes from day to day and the options are always fresh and well done. Lunch is a la carte and the Filipino dishes are impressive. They also have a Wine Buffett from 4 to 8 every day that includes all you can drink white and red wines (promise it isn't Franzia) as well as appetizers. It's a great option before dinner. Dinner is also buffet style, and the options always alternate with great selections each night!! We haven't been disappointed the 7 days we were here for any of the meals or drinks.
Transport: They have a free shuttle that runs every hour from 8 am to noon and then every half hour from 2 to 8 pm. It takes you right into El Nido for all your excursions and explorations.
Overall, Sedo is 5-star quality with the peace and quiet you'd like in a high end El Nido beach resort. We'll definitely be coming here for years to come...already planning our next trip before this one's over! This place is a must try, especially while it's still so...
