Was here for five nights as part of a package a friend discussed on my behalf. I will just go with a simple + Vs - for this place and want to reiterate how lovely the staff were.
Positives: Staff are friendly. Small shop near reception for drinks or snacks if you don't want to go to town again. Good location near the town, 6 mins from the beach. Free coffee/Boiling water, bring your own milk if you drink tea..
Negatives: Although Aircon present, it is very loud and situated above your bed where your head lies. Also, as per picture looks like it is slowly affecting the wall around it. General cleanliness of room not up to standard of even a budget place as per pictures of dust and ?blood? Moved bed to find a plug socket, was met with the pictures attached. Quite noisy, I was in room 30 which was right next to the breakfast area, which is only served 7:00-7:30 so was woken up each morning by this. No hot water for showers, only cold showers available. Room also on the back of some housing of some kind so quite noisy at times till around 00:30/01:00. Not the fault of the place, but they have a Tokay Gecko living around the back of this room which frequently once every 30 minutes or so makes the classic "Tuuukow" sound. Something I had no idea about and neither did the receptionist when I heard it coming through the air con for the first time it...
Read moreVery friendly and helpful staff. Did they best to make stay comfortable. Carry luggage all the way out to main road and call tricycle for you. Problem with water supply due to poor infrastructure of town - nothing hotel can do except they provide (i) bottles of 5 litres water for shower (ii) pump water from well into water tank. When water is available, shower can take a long time due to very low water pressure.||||Booked van to Puerto Princesa two days in advance but was told it has been cancelled on the day of travel (10 mins after the appointed timing).||||Location is good. 10 mins to bus terminal and 5 mins to the town. Can be difficult to find as it is in an alley made from wooden plank on top of a drain.||||Room is spacious but very basic. No T.V., a small coin box safe, housekeeping when requested. Air con control possible only when standing on the bed. Better to stay in fan room because there is electricity blackout during 3 of the 4 nights that I stayed there. When there is blackout, hotel runs the generator which supports normal electricity usage but NOT the air-con. So you are effectively paying for air-con room that has only fan when the electricity blackout (up to 6 hours...
Read moreStayed from 7 to 10 January 2020. We were two couples and one independent traveler. Pre-booked with payment of 3 rooms. Arriving on the evening of January 7, the girl from the reception settled us in rooms on the second floor (this girl is 50 percent spoiled the opinion of |guest house. In the days that followed, she didn't even greet any of us.) On the first night in our room, the toilet did not work, I asked to call a plumber to which I was told it was late and no one would come. I asked for a change of number or a refund, and was also refused. We left the room and said that we would be back tomorrow and that everything would be fixed. On the morning of January 8, I called the hotel and another girl from the reception said that we were given an improved room. ( thank you very much to this girl, she is the only plus of this house). In the evening, our friends in the room while we were at dinner, the rats doused the entire bed and bag, the hotel is located close to the sewer and rats are frequent guests there. Friends moved into our room and we slept 4 people the remaining two nights. I do not recommend this guest house to anyone if you do not want to spoil...
