The inn was ok, but I honestly think that they need to repair and re-design their rooms. The accommodation was decent and all the people working there were hospitable, attentive, and kind. They speak good English and they are very easy to talk to. The service is pretty good and they didn't lack manpower and when we request something (like towels etc.) they attend to our needs and deliver them to our room. However, the rooms were not that good. During our stay, our rooms consist of two beds, a hanger, a bathroom, an electric fan, a mirror, and an air con. Indeed, there are no toiletries, TV, complimentary water, or coffee. But there are free towels. What disappoints me is that their rooms have holes in the roof. We have two rooms because we are a family of six one of two of our rooms was leaking through the roof. When it started raining at el nido the first it leaked in our room and it was a little bit of water dripping (the water leaked at one of our beds) and then it stopped but then the second time the rain fell at el nido water leaked again inside our room (close to the bed and next to the bathroom). The third time it rained the leaking stopped in our room however, our parent's room experienced the same thing. We did not ask to be switched to other rooms because the leaking was minimal but our parents needed to because theirs are more alarming. The bathroom was fine but it was also kind of dirty. I think it's because the wood of the bathroom door is very old that's why little pieces of it fell out on the ground (this does not apply to all rooms just ours) The water is also a concern. But considering the fact that the inn is at a hill-type location the water must come from a deep-well. Apart from that, the room rates are affordable and Pops district is just across the street so going to corong-corong beach is easier and more accessible by walking. Plus, when our parent's room was experiencing leakage they place them in a much more comfortable room instead. It is nice and they are all kind and attentive. But, they really need to re-develop or re-design their rooms and replace their linens. Their linens are very old and thin. But, it was a very comfy place...
Read moreThe entire trip to El Nido, starting from the van transfer pickup in Puerto Princesa, was a disappointment due to a series of unfortunate events at Novies Inn. We understand that we paid a cheap price for the tour package, but that doesn’t mean every peso isn't important; we still paid for it. The driver of the van transfer was nothing but a complainer, showing no attempt to accommodate us fairly. Firstly, he complained about our luggage, despite there being four of us. Secondly, he insisted we sit together in one row, even though we arrived first. When a second group joined with a child, we reluctantly moved. However, the driver made us move again later to accommodate latecomers. This level of service was unexpected and unacceptable, especially at the start of our trip. The next morning, we requested extra pillows and a blanket, but were informed they were unavailable due to full bookings. When we asked about an iron, the receptionist, who seemed annoyed, didn’t even confirm its absence politely. Later, we discovered cockroaches in our room, but the hotel could only relocate us the next day due to being fully booked. They sprayed insecticide while we were still in the room, which was uncomfortable and concerning. When preparing to leave for island hopping, we were told to move our bags to reception ourselves, as the staff couldn’t touch them. This lack of assistance was frustrating. Additionally, when we asked to store leftover food, the receptionist said she needed to check with her manager, which seemed unnecessary and inconvenient. On the day of checkout, there was no offer of luggage assistance, despite the absence of lifts and our injured friend. We were just left off to just carry our luggage after informing us that our van transfer has arrived. Only did they offered assistance when we asked for it. Overall, we cannot recommend this accommodation at all. The only positive aspect of our trip was the island hopping with Seatours, who provided excellent service throughout. They were the saving grace of our El...
Read moreWe stayed in Novies for 6 nights in total. For the record, this place is really cheap so you can’t expect too much! ||||Rooms were very average, beds were clean but far from comfortable. We had Air con which was a big plus. The scenery is amazing in the hotel, you’re essentially in the middle of a jungle which is pretty cool.... however this is a perfect location for bugs, ants in particular! Lots and lots of ants, non got into our room thankfully but there was 100’s just outside our door and in the bathroom! Not good.||||Location was great, a little outside the city centre, 10 min tuk tuk which usually cost 50-70php. Also 10 min tuk tuk from Chrong Chrong beach which is really pretty.||||Main negatives about Novies was it’s WiFi, power cuts and construction work! The whole reception area is under construction which was a pain as there were men at work from early morning until late night and it was constantly dirty! Just bad timing for us I suppose! ||From the 6 days we stayed we were effected by 4 power cuts which ment no air con! The WiFi didn't reach to bedrooms so in order to get connected you need to be close to the reception which was a pain! the WiFi also broke on day two and was broken for the remainder of our stay! When we asked the staff they said they had called the technician to come fix it but I guess he never came.||||Staff were friendly but kept out of your way. Our room wasn’t cleaned once over the 6 days, no sheets changed or new towels which is kinda disgusting but hey, we had our own towels anyway! ||||Overall, if you’re on a travellers budget like myself, this is an okay place to stay, it’s basic and you pay for what you get, but no WiFi for travellers can be tough! Especially if you’re trying to organise tours or look up stuff to do! ||||Word of advice bring plenty of anti bug spray! ||||Hope this...
