NO MAMES! — Restaurant in El Nido

We might have caught this place on an off day or something but this was not good.

The cocktails were ok and the service was good, but the food was not.

Everything was quite bland and tasteless and missed out on Mexican flavors in general. Basic seasoning and spices lacking.

The guacamole was not made out of avocado (maybe a little, but very little in that case), but on green peas. Understand if avocado is hard to get, but then 86 the guacamole and say you have a green pea salsa instead, instead of selling it as guacamole.

The white sauce, some kind of aioli looking thing, split within minutes as well. Not sure what it was - we asked for sour creme...

Nachos were disappointing--stale chips. Meat was okay but toppings overall were very sparse. Forgot to snap photos of our burritos but we had the Al Pastor and Chili Con Carne burritos. They didn't come with cheese and we were told we couldn't add cheese. They were pretty good sized burritos but didn't have a lotta taste/flavor, although they did come with some guacamole and Chipotle mayo type of sauce. The best part of the burritos was probably the seemingly home-made burritos wrap itself, which reminded me of Naan, which I quite liked....

Came here for dinner and expected more considering all the other reviews. Ordered ceviche, nachos and quesadilla.

Nachos were very stale and bland - could honestly make better at home. Ceviche also lacked flavour and didn't taste super fresh. Quesadilla's were okay but not enough to make up for everything else. Also quite pricey considering serving sizes but it is in a tourist spot after all.

On the plus side, staff were very nice and art work was amazing. Hope it was just an off night for the team and others have a...
