Fantastic place to stay right on the Corong Corong Beach area of El Nido. I looked at the many options and Mahogany is one of if not the very best hotel in the area that's located directly on the beach. The sunset views from here are also amazing. The rooms are nice - only 8 individual bungalow style rooms so no sharing walls with a neighbor and the place will never be crowded. Corong Corong beach is also a 100php tricycle ride from El Nido city but it's worth it to escape the crowds and city noise. One thing to note is that Corong Corong Beach is most beautiful at high tide. At low tide the flats are exposed and deeper water is a long way out. The hotel does a great job ensuring thier beach front is clean but the surrounding properties do not do as nice of a job so if you walk along the beach you might find it less nice after youre off the hotel property. The sand on Corong Corong is also not that wide before youre in the water compared to El Nido beach or others. This hotel is peaceful and quite with beautiful well maintained grounds. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food is very good and relatively competitively priced for the area. You can have the hotel arrange the famous El Nido island tours and be picked up just a few steps from the hotel instead of going to El Nido Beach like most folks do. Just beware the the hotel tour info still claims things like towels, water, snorkeling equipment, etc. are included in the tour prices but they no longer are; however, you can rent most of what you need before getting on your boat for the day. I stayed here for a week and would gladly go back... heck I didn't want to leave.

I visited this place to get a break from hostel life and bunk beds. Pros: Rooms were very clean and very spacious. Had a lovely porch to hang out and/or work as there are sockets outside under the table. Love the hut feeling of each room. Feels very private! Location is great. View is spectacular - you get amazing sunsets every night and accessibility to the island tour is very easy as the place is located on the beach close to the boats. Beach is also very clean in this part of the west coast making it ideal for swimming. Food is very delicious! I got two different tofu dishes that were very fresh. I’ve been in PH for 6 months and this place has the best mango shake! Cheese cake is also to die for. Cons: Only two minuses for me was the hardness of the bed and slow Wi-Fi. Bed was too hard for me which woke me up a few times during the night due to back pain. But I guess that’s just a personal preference. Wi-Fi was also very slow. Couldn’t stream or make calls to friends/family without constant log lags. However, the hostel 800 m down the beach has perfect Wi-Fi connection. A suggestion would also be to repaint/redo the pool bottom as it looked very worn out and dirty (even though I’m sure it wasn’t - it was just the pool floor paint that could use a redo). Overall had a great stay - just minor things to comment on a feedback to improve the place :) ingat!

From the moment we arrived at Mahogany Beach Resort, we felt a deep sense of peace. After a disappointing stay in Coron, this place was everything we hoped for and more. The resort is absolutely beautiful, with a serene atmosphere that instantly makes you feel like you’re in heaven. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, always going above and beyond to make our stay special. A special shoutout to Jizzle and Marie at the reception, who greeted us every day with a warm smile and addressed us by name—it’s those personal touches that make all the difference. And of course, a huge thank you to Nico, the owner, who ensures everything runs flawlessly with a true 6-star mindset. Our room was beautifully decorated for our honeymoon, complete with towel swans that made the experience feel extra magical. The pool is stunning and peaceful, the food is delicious, and everything—from the rooms to the gardens—is spotless and perfectly maintained. The location is just right—only 5 minutes from the town center, so it’s easy to pop in anytime, yet far enough to enjoy complete tranquility, away from all the hustle and bustle. Mahogany Beach Resort is a hidden gem, and it gave us the dreamy honeymoon experience we were hoping for. We can’t recommend it enough!

Readers Digest Version: Overall Mahogany was a decent stay but they could make a few slight improvements that would have increased the enjoyment of our trip significantly and left them with a 5 star rating. +put a safe in the room +install more reliable locks on the sliding doors

Detailed version:

The positive The resort is extremely peaceful and the staff are friendly, prompt and helpful. The bed is comfortable, a rainfall shower with hot water and decent pressure. The patio is quite large and all around comfortable. Town is about a 25 minute walk or a 100php tricycle ride. The resort quoted us 50php but only one tricycle driver of the entire week charged us that amount. Maybe we should have haggled more the first time but that is a skill set we have yet to perfect. The bottle of service water is a huge plus and the fact we could ask to have it refilled many times a day was perk all In its own. There is a Kettle in the room which is great for boiling tap water to make coffee. Lift the lid on the Kettle to keep it boiling for a 1 full minute to ensure it is safe to drink.

The mediocre The breakfast menu is small. If staying only a few days, this may not be an issue but if staying longer, it may grow old. I was surprised that fresh fruit wasn't on the menu and you had to ask for it and while it was available, the charge was 250php for 1 plate of mango (which was 1mango). We learnt about half way through the week that fresh fruit only came with the plain omelette.

The less than positive We had booked this resort for 7 days in June of 2022. The room did not have an in-room safe which wouldn't have been as big of a concern if the lock on the door was reliable. However, it was unreliable at best and could easily be opened from the locked position without a key. This left us quite concerned about our items, especially our passports. While nothing went missing, a better door lock and an In room safe would have improved our experience and increased their overall rating.

The pool was clean on day one but by day 6 it was cloudy and turning green. I'm no pool guru but I'd put my money on it and say I think the pool needs to be...

The Mahogany hotel is a beautiful beach front resort. It's a small intimate resort with only about 8 rooms. The room at spacious, simple and very nice. Each room has a cute little porch area to just sit out and enjoy the views. But just be careful of the insects. Sitting out for about 5 mins my sister and I got attacked by insects and bitten all over the the bottom of our legs. Bug spray is a must!

The lay out of the room is open.... meaning there is no private restroom area. There is a wall but no door. The bed comes with only a sheet.... no comforter. So at night I did get cold with the AC. Also there are no TVs.... which is fine. I mean you don't go on vacation to stay indoors watching TV but just know that the rooms don't even offer them.

The rooms each come with a mini frig but nothing is complimentary. They do offer complimentary breakfast in the morning which you can have delivered to your room or set out on the gazebo area. My sister got the fruit salad which was a nice little bowl of banana, watermelon, mango, pineapple and apples. It was actually quite nice. I got the continental breakfast which was an assortment of posing toasted bread, a side of fruit (banana, watermelon slice and 2 orange twist) jam and butter. Not bad.... they actually give you a lot of bread. Our friends each got the American breakfast which contained 2 eggs, side of toast and meat (epithet bacon or ham) it looked perfectly fine and yummy. The portion was an adequate size.

The staff was friendly and helpful. You can even request to get a massage in your room.

The hotel is located about a mile from the main town. So taking a "taxi "is recommended.

If I ever come back to the Philippines I would definitely return...
