Formal Complaint – Incident Regarding Scooter Rental at Ora Beach Resort, El Nido||||Dear Ora Beach Resort / Booking.com,||||I am writing to formally report a serious issue that occurred during my stay at Ora Beach Resort in El Nido.||||On the day before my departure (October 29th), I requested the hotel to arrange a scooter rental for me through your staff. The rental and payment were handled via the hotel. Today, when returning the scooter — the same day I had a scheduled flight to Coron — I received a call from the hotel administration stating that the rental company was claiming money for alleged damages to the scooter.||||I immediately asked for assistance from the hotel manager to mediate the situation, as the rental had been arranged through the hotel. Unfortunately, the manager never came to assist, despite my repeated requests. The representative from the rental company demanded money without presenting any proof or photos to justify the claim. Dear Ora Beach Resort / Booking.com,
I am writing to formally report a serious issue that occurred during my stay at Ora Beach Resort in El Nido.
On the day before my departure (October 29th), I requested the hotel to arrange a scooter rental for me through your staff. The rental and payment were handled via the hotel. Today, when returning the scooter — the same day I had a scheduled flight to Coron — I received a call from the hotel administration stating that the rental company was claiming money for alleged damages to the scooter.
I immediately asked for assistance from the hotel manager to mediate the situation, as the rental had been arranged through the hotel. Unfortunately, the manager never came to assist, despite my repeated requests. The representative from the rental company demanded money without presenting any proof or photos to justify the claim. When I again asked to speak with the manager, I was told he was unavailable.
The rental representative then called the local police, further escalating the situation, while still refusing to provide evidence. Given the time pressure of my flight, and to be able to leave, I reluctantly agreed to pay USD 60 so they would let me go.
I am deeply disappointed by the hotel’s lack of support and responsibility in this matter. The rental was coordinated through your staff, and I expected at least basic assistance from the management. The complete absence of help made the experience extremely stressful and left a very negative impression.
I kindly request that you investigate this incident, as the handling was unprofessional and unfair. I would also appreciate confirmation that the hotel will review its process for third-party rentals to avoid similar situations for future...
Read moreThe only reason I’m giving this place two stars rather than one is because they gave us a 1000 php refund at the end of our stay because it was so bad. Let’s start with the good, the location is fantastic and a few steps from the beach with a great pool, cabanas, and decent gym. Let’s talk about the bad now. The food. Will. Make. You sick. My wife and I went for our honeymoon and on the second day got seriously sick throwing up and diarrhea for days, it was so bad we couldn’t leave the room for the duration of our stay. Every meal we had there made our stomached turn and made us feel like we were going to throw up. Beware the omelets and breakfast. Some sort of inspector needs to check this place out because I’m sure they are serving polluted or expired food. The gym is right on top of the beach view rooms on the second floor, and you can hear everything, good luck on getting any rest. Some of the staff are polite, others especially restaurant staff are horrible. We had to go and ask multiple times for food order after waiting patiently for more than 30 min, when we asked we were told to “just wait”. When we went to check in we were asked if we would wait another 30min to check in after we had waited 3 hours already in the middle of summer. WiFi only works sometimes as well, and cell service as limited in this location. There are some good people here trying to do good work, but the food and overall experience will ruin your vacation. Power would shut off in our room every night with a loud thump when the breaker switched off and a big thump back on when it switched back on and the lights would turn on in the middle of the night. Our door also did not close and had a gap in it that just let all the mosquitos and bugs in. Save your stomach and your trip and go...
