Morning Walsh Beach Hotel @ El Nido, Palawan. Overall, a quiet place to stay, affordable compared to the pricier hotels within the area, basic accommodations should be upgraded and improved on.
Parking - non existent. It's a boutique hotel, so that should be enough to inform prospective guests. Staff will direct guests where to park.
Hotel Staff - is very helpful in meeting guests at the front of the alley called Pop District, staff will assist with luggage (no luggage trolley) to the room. Also assisted us during the midnight check out.
Family Room (sleeps 4) - comfortable queen sized beds (still not big enough for me and Lil Sis coz we don't like sharing the blankets & I don't like Lil Sis to touch my feet!) 3.a. Uninvited Guest - Cockroach 🪳!!! 3.b. Shower 🚿 - big shower 🚿 head that I found very lacking in water 💧 pressure 🚿 . Water 💦 often trickles down to nothing then have to notify Reception and it turns back on again. Reception gave us a tabo and 🪣 balde/timba (big pail/bucket and dipper) which would've been useful IF the shower faucet 🚰 was working! I would've gladly gone back to showering using a balde/timba and tabo. 3.c. Shower Faucet 🚰 - broken. This would've been better to use with the tabo & timba. SMH 😏 3.d. Shower door/wall - water 💧 leaked on the floor towards the toilet 🚽 and sink area from the shower section. 3.e. No shower caddy/shelf for placement of shower products inside. Instead, it is placed outside of the shower. Which means, you'll have to constantly open and close the shower door 🚪 when you want to use shampoo, conditioner, body wash or body soap. 3.f. Bathroom rug - ever since I found out about diatomaceous bath mat/rug, I've ditched bathroom rugs. Bathroom rugs are useless in this kind of bathroom/shower. As I said, there's a water leak from the shower section so this bathroom rug just ended up getting soaked and grossly squishy. 3.g. Bathroom sink - no space for hand soap or oral care products. 3.h. No phones/landline in the room. So have to call 📞 using cellphone. 3.i. Front/Main Gate/Door to the property -closed @ 10pm. So prepare to call the Receptionist on the cellphone number. Even better, just notify the Receptionist before you leave for the day that you will be back @ whatever time so that they'll expect you and they'll be prepared to be woken up.
Breakfast - simple Continental breakfast and takes time with a small kitchen. We had pancakes + toasted white bread 🍞 + medium eggs 🥚 + fresh fruits (yellow watermelon is delish! and banana). My nephew devoured the bananas 🍌 (he might be part monkey 🐒?)
Tour Offers - there are tours offered by the hotel. There's also 2 other Tour companies right outside the hotel.
Payments - CASH, G-Cash.
NICE!!! 7.a. Well Water Pump - brought back childhood memories, pumping well water. Showed my 6 year old niece and 4 year old nephew how it works. They were fascinated and tried pumping as well. Had to watch though coz there was a rusted part on the handle. 7.b. Beach front access.... just walk on over and the ocean is right there. Obviously during low tide, the water is farther away. High tide brings the water right up to the property walls. 7.c. Outdooor Massage Services - would've been nice if we had more time. I was just too busy fighting against all the flying biting things.
Electricity- be prepared to have power outages. It happened during our stay.
Restaurants Within walking distance- plenty of choices. There's also a Gelato place and a coffee place. Too bad they closed early (6pm I think) coz my niece and nephew wanted...
Read moreWe spent a 5 night stay for vacation in this hotel in March,||Its a disgusting place to stay,||The rooms are dirty. They barely clean the rooms even on your request.||The smell of the tap water was nauseous, at first we thought its the issue of the whole island but after trying other places , we figured out that the problem is with this hotel, only.||There was lots of insects in the room.||At last but not the least, there was no Wifi in this hotel, although its mentioned in the site while booking.||We asked many times to solve the issue at least for 1-2 hours per day but it didnt happen and their respond was that this issue is with the whole Elnido, again we found out that other places were benefitting from a good internet connection.||Its not worth it to pass even one hour in this hotel, ( as its too expensive considering its situation) unfortunately we had paid for all 5 nights through booking web site, in advance and couldnt...
Read moreWe stayed at Morning Walsh for 3 nights. We paid around 90euro for a night. For 90euro a night in the Phillippines you expect much much more than what we got. Room was big and clean however very old and basic. |No safe in room which personally nowadays is quite important. Breakfast was really basic. Coffee or tea (you had to pay extra for juice) and coffee was a satchet 3 in 1. Then we had an omelette (no choice given) a piece of toast and some slices of fruit. ||Location was good and room was spacious.||We paid the highest price for laundry from all locations we stayed at in the Phillippines and got to know that they washed the clothes themselves, they did not send them to a laundry. (Extra cost for sending them to...
