I had an amazing time and delicious food at La Plage. I was searching for a relaxing break from the boat tours and this place exceeded my expectations. I got a comfy seat on a big materasse in front of the beach, protected by the shade of the threes, overlooking at the sea. The location offers also a pool however the sea here is very quiet and the send is soft without rocks perfect for a swim but if you are looking for snorkelling, this is not the place.

Staff was nice and, despite what some reviews stated, I was never pushed to buy more then what I ordered or never felt unattended. And let's be honest, it would be extremely rude for a customer to buy one drink and pretending to occupy the beach front seats all day long. This is a business not a charity institution.

Food was delicious. I had ceviche, that by the way was insanely good and well presented, octopus salad with a tasty dressing, and a warm basket of bread that I used to clean up the dish. I was also provided with complimentary water as, by choice, I don't like to consume water in plastic bottles to reduce pollution. I don't drink alcoholic beverage, so I cannot comment on the drinks, but they looked good.

Despite having raw fish, I did not suffer any food poisoning, as many negative reviews are stating. I actually was so full and satisfied by the food that I had to take a nap after the meal 😅. If the problem could be related to ice cubes, as some reviews say, well I cannot tell. For my personal experience this did not happen to me, so I would say, eat with confidence.

The ambience is so relaxing, the sunset view is so romantic and the chill music in the evening add and extra value to the full experience.

My only advice would be to designate a space for smoking, as I don't smoke and there were some people smoking next to me, and this was a bit disturbing.

One last note about another complain I read in the reviews, the extra 5% charge for credit card payment. I saw this in many other locations and it is not surprising me. Is it rare to find restaurants or bars or any activity accepting card payment in the Philippines. I think that giving this option to its customer is actually a plus. So, if you don't want to pay the fee, just pay cash as you do in any other business in the Philippines.

Last, but not least, I forgot the umbrella I borrowed from my hotel there. When I realized it, it was already late as I was departing the day after and had no time to comeback to pick it up. I gave them a phone call and they were so kind to give it to a tuk tuk and have it delivered to the hotel, of course I paid for the ride, but they could have just said that they did not find it or not be willing to help. Instead the went beyond expectation.

So my experience in La Plage restaurant, overall was outstanding and I highly...

I visited this restaurant twice—once in the evening for drinks and a second time for lunch. Unfortunately, while the first visit was pleasant, the second was a complete disaster.

On our first visit, everything was fine. I had a banana shake, which was excellent, and my girlfriend had a Moscow Mule that was acceptable. We also shared a delicious hummus, which set high expectations for our return visit.

However, our second visit for lunch was a major letdown. We ordered 1kg of grilled fish, but after waiting over 30 minutes, we were served a complimentary starter—likely because they had forgotten our order. At this point, we weren’t in a rush, so we appreciated the gesture. The real problem came when we waited another 30 minutes for the fish.

When it finally arrived, it looked amazing, but after a few bites, we realized that nearly half of it was completely undercooked. After waiting an hour for our meal, we could barely eat half of it. Out of frustration, we even ended up giving some of the raw parts to the stray dogs nearby.

We brought this to the waiter’s attention when we asked for the bill. He acknowledged the issue, but instead of a fair resolution, they only gave us a 10% discount on the fish. This was unacceptable. I wouldn’t have minded paying for the hummus and side dishes, but charging us for a dish that was 50% inedible was completely unfair. We shouldn’t have been charged for the fish at all.

To make matters worse, my girlfriend ended up with severe stomach pain and had to go straight to the restroom after the meal.

I’ve been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, and I understand that kitchen mistakes happen. But what truly matters is how a restaurant handles them. In this case, the lack of responsibility, long waiting times, and inadequate resolution made for a...

We entered the restaurant because the location is very nice and there seemed to be a very good atmosphere. We ordered the food (a salad and some mussels) and only water. The first 45 minutes of waiting could still be endured, we saw the waiters talking, drinking beer, smoking and laughing in a corner while we still did not receive the food. When it comes time to wait, they tell us that a chef has failed and that only one boy is in the kitchen, and they proceed to change our table to one near the beach because of the wait. After an hour and a quarter, the manager (the same one who was laughing, smoking and drinking his beers) came to tell us that the salad we had ordered had fallen on the floor. He tells us that he offers to make us one, just with lettuce and feta cheese, and that he already took out the mussels for us. It was a lie, 10 more minutes waiting, and there were no mussels, no salad or anything. Seeing the comments of previous customers, we are grateful for not having had anything in this restaurant (not even a cocktail) since many have suffered poisoning. Almost an hour and a half waiting for a salad and some mussels, it seems like a joke... There were also...

**I would strongly advise against dining at this restaurant, particularly when it comes to their seafood offerings, unless you are prepared to endure potential health issues and incur significant medical expenses in the days that follow.** We chose to dine at La Plage in El Nido for dinner after reading its excellent reviews. Unfortunately, our experience did not align with the positive feedback. We ordered the octopus tapas and deep-fried shrimp, but both dishes fell short of expectations. The deep-fried shrimp was soggy and lacked the expected crispness, while the octopus dish was underwhelming in flavor. To make matters worse, a few hours after our meal, I experienced severe vomiting that lasted throughout the night, despite taking medication to alleviate the symptoms. As the day went on, my fiance also suffered from intermittent vomiting and diarrhea, which required us to seek treatment at the nearest hospital. Given that both my husband and I work in healthcare, we were able to quickly identify the issue as gastroenteritis. This experience was extremely disappointing, and we will not be returning to La Plage in the future.
