Kajali — Hotel in General Luna

This review is a reply for Mr Jerome Bclr. *Unfortunately our cctv broke because of power interuption that always happen in the island. We have security guard that work 7pm to 7am. The guard have't seen any suspect or thief enter the premises during his stay. *A theft incident was reported in the police station. In the police report only cash was stolen inside a bag in the wallet whatever. We give him the key to lock the room. How come you don't lock? He notice that the door was open around 5am? but he reported the incident at 11am? why? *The bag was found near the garden of his villa. No cash/bills and just few coins. DL was found. I reported to him that the bag was found. And Since then he claims more things that disappered. Which has no proofs or not even stated in the police report. *He said, No compensation offered to him, which I offered him a compensation of the amount stated in the police report, but he don't want. He demanded a certain amount. *I know guests / clients are always right. But this is a matter of honesty! Even though He is a lawyer. But I guess this is all for insurance purposes. Getting money from insurance and getting money from us? Which the resort was not having any income due to no tourist. And he also refuses the amount 3000php that I offered coz it was the amount stated in the police report. And of course he signed the Guests policy upon checked in that He must be responsible of his valuables. *My staff find this a cat incident coz the bag was empty and there was scratches from paws. And a brown bag (bulseta may have food inside). It was left in the balcony that is next to the garden where the bag was found. *We even sent him the bag through LBC and we paid for it. *For DOT accreditation we are still processing since, everything (esp. paper works in the island is not that easy).

We are trying our best to accommodate and ensure our guests safety. We hired a trusted guard works 7pm to 7am. Resort has high fence. one entrance only for more secure and control of peopl, who come and go. CCTV we're installed (though that time it broke). The door of our villas are secured lock key from inside. And It is the 1st time it happen in our 1year and a half of operation. We had guests before that leaves their laptop, money in the balcony but never been stolen. *A missing shirt or a short not even sure what is it??? and we will be accused...

Security Issues and Poor Customer Service - Items Stolen from Room

I stayed at Kajali Resort in July 2025 and experienced a significant security incident that was handled unprofessionally by the management of the hotel.

What happened:

Items were stolen from my room including ₱3,000 cash, a new swimsuit, and a technical t-shirt (total loss ~€120). At night I realized the door was half open

My bag containing my wallet (no cash) with driver's license was found the next day near plants outside the room

The hotel's CCTV system was not working during my stay

Hotel's Response:

Management dismissed the incident, claiming a "cat" took my bag due to food inside

No proper investigation was conducted

They refused any compensation despite clear security failures

Police report was filed (I went alone) but hotel showed no accountability: "guest are responsible on their valuable items... think maybe the short / tshirt is missing before ... There are no thieves at Kajali, you must have forgotten them elsewhere..."

Security Concerns:

Non-functional CCTV system for at least 10 days

Inadequate room security, especially in an area very dark at night

Staff untrained in handling security issues

While the location is nice, the security issues and poor management response make this place unsuitable for travelers who value safety and professional service. Finally they have not been accreditated by the Department of Tourism.

Recommendation: Choose a more established resort with proper security measures and...

This is a very new hotel and the way that they have developed the foliage around the 12 rooms and the central pool is really beautiful.||The room itself is big and nicely designed with good wardrobe space and a large bathroom.||The pool is large and tastefully designed.||Whilst they haven't started to provide catering or a bar on site, the restaurant and bar is already set up and looks nice. You can get breakfast across the road at Kermit. If you walk about 200 yards to the end of the street, there is a large choice of places to eat.||The property is located down an unpaved road about 200 yards from the main road. It's not too bad but in the rainy season at night this could be an inconvenience. AT the time of our visit there was construction going on next door.
