We didn’t have the best experience here unfortunately. The place looked very promising but approximately everything that could go wrong… went wrong. Forgotten plates, miscommunication between the staff and manager who took the order, wrong dishes, waiting for the drinks after we finished our food… The one thing we ordered and actually wanted was nice. The other thing we didn’t order and got by accident didn’t look good at all. I hope this is a wake up call for the owner cause there is a lot of room for improvement.
Update after this reaction from management.
“We appreciate your feedback Sir. Apparently your a burger person than a waffle or rice. You are right, there is always a room for improvement, everything does. We will definitely progress to something good on a daily basis. But then again, hope you guys enjoyed the island and the burgers and fries.”
— Dear owner, manager, whoever responded this. With all due respect but this reaction is not appropriate. Instead of acknowledging that actually your business failed at that certain time you try to point fingers at us for being difficult customers that only like burgers and fries. Really not professional. Yes we do like a good burger and fries for sure. Who doesn’t? But I live in Indonesia so I love rice and I am Belgian, where do the waffles come from again? I must say your argument is not valid here and I would definitely suggest to try to do some self reflection and instead of insulting your customers to see what actually went wrong and how you could prevent that from happening in the future. If you look at all my reviews you will see I am the first person to support a business and 99% are good reviews. Your business just didn’t deserve more than a 2 star review. I wish your business all the best cause I do see a lot of potential. I wish you all the...
Read moreWe had just arrived in Siargao and looked on Google Maps for a nearby breakfast place. I saw reviews for Siargao Corner Cafe praising their waffles. I love waffles so I had to try it out. I ordered a Cafe Latte and an Omelette Waffle, my husband ordered a Vietnamese Coffee (not pictured) and Spamsilog.
Coffee arrived on time. Although we were halfway done with our cups by the time my husband's order arrived. We waited some more for my order. We didn't realize how long we had been waiting until we noticed that people who ordered after us were getting their meals already, so we followed up my order. Turns out they forgot about it. Upon checking the time, we had apparently waited 20 minutes between my husband's order and mine. (The reason for 4 stars.) I did give them feedback about this for future customers and they were very apologetic about it.
I was excited for the waffles but turns out I loved the omelette more. It was such comfort food! But the waffles were good, too, the omelette just stood out more. My husband enjoyed his Spamsilog as well although the Spam and eggs were a little "cute." Haha
The coffee was great. We quite enjoyed the coffee.
Also gave 4 stars for atmosphere because there were a lot of flies. It's not their fault though as it seems to be common in the island in general, but it is noteworthy. They were kind of a nuisance. Good thing the food and coffee were good.
The line got way longer after we had ordered so that's always a good sign that you're at the...
Read moreCame here for brunch a few days ago after seeing the great reviews and just don’t understand the hype at all. We sat at the only empty table downstairs which still had a glass on from the previous customers, despite seeing us sit here and bringing menus the staff made no effort to clear it. We then waited a long time for our order to be taken, the staff were busy but it took my boyfriend going up to the counter to actually bring them over (we don’t mind ordering at the counter at all but we saw others having their order taken at the table!). The smoothie bowl we both ordered was tasty but nothing mind blowing especially given how many great bowls we’ve had in the Philippines. We also felt the portion was small - the bowl was half full and had a bit of mango, some chia seeds and granola but not generous at all especially given the toppings tend to be the filling part of a bowl! It is slightly cheaper than many other smoothie bowls in the area so this would be fine, except service charge and tax are not added until you pay so actually it isn’t any cheaper. Staff were not friendly, we got the feeling they were just uninterested in many of their customers and they kept dinging the bell excessively which ruined the atmosphere. The fans were also ineffective at least where we sat so we were uncomfortably hot. Overall just don’t waste your money here there are much nicer places for similar cost and...
