November 2024 love the recent croissants i bought fron Born in Bread. The crookie and pistachio croissants are soo good. Surprisingly, the crookie has just the right amount of sweetness for me.

Will change the review once I've tried their other dishes.
Went solo and had the crispy pain au chocolat (the only piece left). Arrived at half past 5 in the afternoon. Restaurant wasn't full. More than half a dozen tables were available including the ones outside. There were madeleines and 2 Amanns (with berry sauce dripping on top - ruby crombolini accdg to the photo I took). Was looking for something savory and it was too early for dinner or anything heavy so I opted for the croissant. Had the iced macchiato for drinks.
Location - easy to locate. Plenty of parking space. Wheelchair accessible, too.
Food - the pain au chocolat was too sweet (for me). It has chocolate filling and chocolate sauce with (rice crispies?) on top. I love the bread! If it was simply the croissant with chocolate filling, it's a 5. Iced macchiato is ok. Not my favorite.
Service - 5 stars! There weren't plenty of customers earlier so it could be a factor. However, I noticed how attentive the servers are to each of their customers. (1) one lady from the counter asked if I could just pay later after eating (2) one waiter gave me a glass of water (he probably noticed I was almost done with my food and drinks). I appreciate these simple gestures and will remain one of the reasons why I'd come back.
Atmosphere - can get intimidating, imo. But staff were welcoming and accommodating. Liked the interiors. Cool ambiance especially when dining inside. They have alfresco dining, too.
Price - it's relative. It's not budget-friendly but it could be to others. They have entrées and salads, too. And they're on the pricier side for me.
Would come back with family and friends and order their savory croissants and other dishes...
Read morei love bread and born in bread was honestly bready for me!!! hahahah
had a good breakfast early on here at 7 cause they’re one of the establishments that opens early on in the day.
we had for 2 pax: •sea salt latte •taho coffee •pistachio pain au chocolat •eggs benedict bacon
for take out i got a box of 4 + 1 cookie: •pistachio kataifi •ensaymada croissant •almond pain au chocolat •bacon jalapeño •chocolate chip walnut
i really wanted to get the shakshuka to-go, but it sold out real fast!!! but maybe it’s better i didn’t as it wouldn’t have kept well to my flight back in manila. i know there are also lots of good bakeries in manila, but born in bread is still on a level of its own in my opinion.
really enjoyed their bread first and foremost—everything we had from dine in to to-go and even their cookie was good!!! the serving time is also enough wait time, they have ample seats for different group sizes, good drinks, and a good morning vibe to boot with a cute display upfront and chill music. the sea salt latte could use a bit more improvement, but already better than most. i’m just not fond of too much cream, so it’s really preference. i especially loved the taho coffee as it does have a solid coffee kick. i’ve tried elsewhere before and it’s not as satisfying as i had here.
the only reason why i’m rating food a 3 is because i haven’t tried their other menu items, but the breads are already solid on its own and also justifies their name. would definitely come...
Read moreEverything was good! You know why? Because you can tell that the people who run this place from baking, cooking, and managing it, knows exactly what they’re doing. Indi balibagon. Every item on the menu complimented each other.
It was pricey for Iloilo standards. But so are the new food establishments popping up these days. Do they need more improvement? Just a little. The risotto I had was a tad undercooked and the Lamb Rice had very little lamb. But still good.
We need more well-thought out restos in the city and I’m glad we have one right here. Keep it up!
(We ordered more but these were the only photos I got. Salmon Tartare and the Smoked Bacon and...
