My New Go-To Spot in Elyu — Everything I Could’ve Asked For and More
I stayed at Frania Boutique Hotel a week ago, and honestly... I’m still thinking about it (and I just had to leave my review). From the moment I arrived, I felt like I made the right choice. The hotel is tucked right by the highway, super easy to find, but once you’re inside, it feels like a peaceful little pocket away from all the buzz. It's private, gated, and secure—I had full peace of mind knowing my car was safe while I was free to roam around, surf, eat, and enjoy my trip.
The location is just a few minutes away from Flotsam, Kabsat, and a bunch of places I've always been wanting to check out. Whether you want to chill by one of the many cafés in the area, catch a sunset by the shore, or meet up with newly made friends, everything is within arm’s reach.
But what really won me over were the rooms. Clean, cozy, and aesthetic, everything felt fresh and thoughtfully put together. There’s a warmth to the design that made it feel like I was in Bali rather than just another place to crash. You can tell they really put a lot of thought into this place. I'm so grateful that I did not need to compromise on my much needed rest at the end of the day as compared to all my previous trips to Elyu where Airbnb's and other accommodations left a lot to be desired (no exaggeration!).
The staff? Genuinely some of the kindest and most accommodating people I’ve met on my trip. They were always ready to help, smile on their faces, and you could feel the hospitality wasn’t forced—it felt sincere, like they were happy to have you there. They catered to my requests super quickly and answered all my questions about nearby spots.
Frania had everything I needed for my trip—comfort, security, convenience, and a touch of tropical chic charm. And at this price point? Nothing else in Elyu even comes close to the quality and vibe you get here.
I’ve stayed in a few places in La Union before, but Frania just hits different. I have a good feeling this'll be my (and a lot of other peoples) new go-to whenever I’m in town. Already looking forward to coming back—this place made my Elyu trip extra special. 💛 Thank you Rick and the Frania team for being part of an...
Read moreWe made a reservation for a room at the Frania Boutique Hotel for the long weekend of August 23–25 in June. We made our reservation in advance, and the page itself confirmed it. I also sent them a deposit.
We got there early on August 23 and waited until 3:00 pm to check in. While we were at the receptionist, they unexpectedly informed us that my name was not on the booking list and that they were completely booked. I had already made the down payment and had just made a reservation last June, so I was surprised. Because August 23–25 is a long weekend, I anticipated that a lot of people would make reservations, so I made my reservation in advance.
My boyfriend and I, as well as my dog, were exhausted after the long drive and needed to relax. Then we discovered we had no reservations? I also need to settle into the room to work because I had stuff to complete at the moment.
They apologized to us and searched for another room that was pet-friendly because we have a dog, and they eventually found another hotel, Xen by Balai Norte, which is a great hotel by the way.
It's sad, we really liked the Frania Boutique Hotel because it was aesthetically pleasing. Hopefully, instances like these will be avoided not only for us, but for all future guests who make reservations. Hopefully, they will learn from this that they should always double-check bookings to improve the experience for both us and future guests. I would still try to book in this...

I had a lovely stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The location is fantastic — just a short walk to the beach, and surrounded by great restaurants and cozy coffee shops. Everything is very accessible, making it super convenient for exploring the area.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast each morning was a nice touch.
That said, there were a couple of downsides. Noise from the hallway and outside could be heard clearly from the room, which might be an issue for light sleepers. Also, I had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi, which didn’t seem to reach well into the room. I’d recommend the hotel consider installing a booster to improve the signal.
Despite these minor issues, I think the hotel offers great value for the price, and I would definitely...
