I booked directly with the manager of the hotel for a premium room for two with a double bed at Php 2,500 per night a week before my scheduled trip. After sending them a photo of my deposit the manager didn't bother replying to confirm so I had to call the front desk because apparently the manager isn't always at the property. Management and front line personnel were not aligned and I should have taken this as a sign of things to come. Upon arriving at the property they asked for the other half of the payment and told us that they recently changed their price to Php 2,700 per night at the beginning of July. I clarified with the front desk person that we agreed it was Php 2,500 per night and that the manager should have known that they increased the rates. The front desk honoured the agreed price after showing the email exchange and we paid Php 2,500. When we got to our rooms we found out that they gave us a premium room for two with two single beds instead of a double bed. I complained to the manager by calling him at 2 AM so they upgraded us to a better room with a double bed. The room is basic with no closet, it was dusty inside, there was a dead fly swatted on the wall, and there was a piece of leftover soap in the bathroom from the previous guest. The building is located along the highway so one can hear the noise from honking buses, karaoke in the wee hours of the morning and thumping music from the nightclub in the second floor of the same building. I don't recommend staying in this hotel if you are looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay in San...
Read moreLocation - one of the newest hotels in Urbiztondo, G Hotel is located at the 3rd floor of Planet G building. Not beachfront, but just a 2 min walk to the beach (Not a joke. You just have to cross the main road, then go through San Juan Surf Resort then voila!) I think it's at the center of the town since most of the hangout places are within walking distance from this place! Parking is not a problem, since they have an exclusive parking space across the hotel. ||||Facilities - no elevator. O_O It was quite a hike up, especially after a day of surfing, or a night of partying. Also, there is no exclusive or designated entrance to the hotel. You have to go thru the Planet G restaurant to enter and exit the hotel.||||Room - Quite spacious for the 4 of us (1 queen, 1 single, 1 foam), with en-suite bathroom. Beds were clean and comfortable. However, there were no cabinets or tables or chairs to put our bags on. We also had to hang our wet clothes outside by the balcony. Bathroom was clean, with a hot shower. BUT! Do not leave food inside the room since you may have a battle with an army of ants, just like we did.||||Price - P2500 for an overnight stay for 4. Very reasonable, considering the location and season (it was summer with an event)||||Food - accommodation comes with a free breakfast from Planet G, which was okay. ||||Service - very accommodating staff. B||||Overall, we had a great stay at G Hotel, and it's certainly an option whenever...
Read moreThe property is now branded as Spectroom Hotel, but unfortunately, our experience was underwhelming. While the rooms were relatively clean—despite signs of rushed repainting—it wasn’t enough to make up for the overall discomfort during our stay.
Ongoing Renovation: When we arrived, the building was clearly under renovation. The ground floor was filled with the strong smell of paint and dust, which made it hard to breathe. Disorganized Parking: The parking situation was a complete mess. Although the hotel claimed to have a reserved parking area, it turned out to be just an open, unguarded lot. There were no security personnel—only bystanders who denied official responsibility but still managed the space and collected fees. We paid for parking, yet every time we returned, our spot was already taken. Reception Issues: The front desk was often unattended, making it difficult to ask questions or raise concerns. Noise Levels: The bar located just below the hotel was extremely loud and stayed open past 2 AM, making it difficult to sleep.
While the location was decent, the overall experience left much to be desired. Sadly, I would not recommend this hotel, especially for guests looking for a comfortable and...
