Tagpuan sa San Juan — Restaurant in La Union

First and foremost, the staff was noticeably unfriendly. Additionally, the quality of the food did not match the high prices, and the ambiance was equally underwhelming given the cost.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place.

To clarify, we dined at Tagpuan on June 12, 2025, around 5 PM.

Unfortunately, the experience was far from welcoming. While looking at the menu from the counter, a staff member said “EXCUSE NGA” in a tone that came off as unnecessarily rude. As someone genuinely excited to try your food, that interaction immediately shifted the mood and was quite off-putting.

When it came time to pay, the cashier mentioned she would give me my change but didn’t follow through. I had to go back to the counter after we finished eating to ask for it—and even then, she didn’t remember the amount or the transaction clearly, despite the fact that there were only three of us. It felt careless and dismissive.

I understand your point about pricing and your goal of balancing affordability with quality. However, as a customer, I still found your prices on the higher end compared to similar spots in Elyu—so it’s disappointing when the service doesn’t reflect that value.

Every year I celebrated my birthday out of town, this year (January 28, 2022) I went to Urbiztondo, San Juan La Union, for me to experience - their beaches, night life and foods. This food restaurant is included on my list, I'm so excited to eat here in Tagpuan sa San Juan, Lugaw (Porridge) is my favorite food, I ordered, Lugaw and Tokwa and egg, the food is so delicious, the service is good too, that time my phone is 0 percent I know that it is not possible to charge my phone there since it is not allowed as one of the staff advised me, I ask again and tell that I will pay for it, She allowed me to charge my phone and there's no fee! I'm so thankful for that since that place is our last stop and we will go back to Manila.

The location is good for picture but I advise you to put mosquito lotion in your skin since there's a lot of mosquito here, I don't know if this is always, we went there at 4pm. Be ready to line up for order taking since they have a lot customers.

🌸Food - we ordered Bagnet, Tapa and Chix Adobo for our dinner and it didn't let me down. It makes sense that the food in their menu is limited but the food was really good and they are serving a number of customers, with and without hungover. Affordable and good for the price, just expect that the serving is good for one. I like the taste of their tapa, the Bagnet and Chix Adobo were fine.

💮Staff/service - not really much, they are just inside. Just remember CLAYGO guys, because most of the staffs are inside. Let's just help each other.

🌸Place - Their place is easy to find since they are just in front of 711. So first of, expect that there will be a long queue in this place. Besides that, their place is a bit small considering that a lot of people are going and trying their food. It's an Instagramable place. However, when we went there, there was foul smell coming from the other building because its under construction.
