Booked our stay through the Agoda app.
Staff review: Very friendly staff and accomodating owner. Went to Sagada without a single plan on what and where to visit so we asked the staff for some suggestions. The owner stepped in to help us decide on the places to visit. The owner even arranged the necessary documents in order for us to be able to visit the different tourist spots in Sagada (Note: You can't visit tourist sites in Sagada without the necessary permits and without the aid of tour guides so you should keep that in mind when planning your visit). The owner also offered us transportation (it's optional) towards and from Sumaguing Cave for a fee, which is highly convenient for our part since we do not want mud and grime going all around our ride's interior. Overall, the staff had made our entire stay in Sagada super convenient.
Amenities Review: The place is more like a transient or homestay than a hotel so don't expect the amenities to be of high class. The room is quite spacious and the beds are comfortable enough to ease our fatigue from our long trek inside Sumaguing Cave. The bathroom is also quite clean (no bidets though, so take note Manila travellers). However, the water heater for the shower in our room does not heat the water that much which makes morning showers somewhat uncomfortable. For a place with cold ambient temperature like Sagada, a nicely working water heater is a must. Also, there were lots of ants behind our room's closet which could possibly be a big deal for some people but it's not that big of a deal for us. Overall, Shamrock Tavern is a nice place to stay for family and...
Read moreWas part of the package booking but I wish I checked the web page first. Overall room is reasonably clean but only do the cleaning every two days. The room we were booked is not well ventilated so it was difficult to get rid of the smell of the bleaching agent used for cleaning. There is ample heated shower facility but it's not for the health and safety conscious. Toilet needs toilet seat. Overall it needs upgrading! There is a karaoke bar on the ground floor but the staff are dishonest of charging price drinks even though I pointed out that it was not what on the price list. They just completely ignore me. I guess they do this as I was with a foreign guest even though I'm a Filipino and speak the lingo.|I'm afraid I'm not going back or recommend this place. Staff are reasonably friendly but not offering extra such as offering a drink or helping with your luggage. Except when selling...
Read moreWe arrived in Sagada Sunday evening - just as the weekend is done and most of the tourists have left Sagada. The rooms of Shamrock are spacious enough, we also got a room upgrade and we ended up with a room that's more than enough for us. The person at the reception was very helpful and provided useful information on the restaurants in Sagada. The Shamrock Tavern Extension is located along South Road, probably the main road of Sagada, just a few minutes walk to most of the restaurants. The good thing about it is that it has its own parking space. As South Road is only a 2-way road, parking in most of its length is not allowed though there are some parking lots near it, these are quite expensive and there's a good chance that these are full on weekends. If you drove to Sagada and parked your car, the other places to visit are accessible on foot - also you'll get...
