Did my reservation over Hostelworld for a female dorm. They reached out by email but it went into my spam folder. I reacted 48 hours later and they told me that there is no space anymore in the female dorm, even if i already payed a part od the costs and getting the confirmation. After 2-3 emails they said that there is going to be a free bed at the female dorm after all. When I arrived, there were still 2 beds free in the female dorm. The bill I payed through bank transfer was way too much, they got me a refund of almost 2‘200 pesos (amount on bill was wrong). The beds are very small, maybe 1.60 m in length. Shower smelled like a toilet. Lockers were all broken except from one so we couldn‘t store our stuff safely, especially as there is no way to lock the door to the room?! Last night I woke up to a stranger in the bed next to me at 2.30 am eating and making so much noise. She wasn‘t checked in our room, she didn‘t had any backpack or suitcase and was wearing the same stuff like in the night after she left in the morning. This was so wierd and even if it was a woman, it was still frightening, especially because she ran out of the room as soon as we slowly were waking up in the morning. The pool wasn‘t clean at all so you can‘t use it. Good thing was the beach nearby and the staff was still welcoming and friendly - but that is it. Can‘t recommend this...
Read moreChillax Hostel 8-8-2025 value of money is 3.5 / 5 Good stay for a couple of nights, it's far away from the downtown, white beach and lively area!
The advantages: Friendly staff a quite area clean rooms hot water for a shower free hot and cold water dispenser ( in the office -Top floor) comfy mattes and pillow no bed bugs in the bed A.C window type in each room I asked for a stand air fan and they provided me with a good one! a kitchen with a gas stove and plenty of cocking pots, dishes, cubs, spoons ... etc
The disadvantages: not a good location (far from the island downtown) and you will need to walk around 10 mints to reach the main road that will take you to the south part (station 1 and station 2) very high steps stairs so it's hard to get to the upper floor ( the office, kitchen and the pool area) I'm a tall man 6'3, I found the bed size a little shorter to my hight thin cover sheets, you need to turn off the AC before you sleep! plumbing go slow when you're taking a shower, that will make the floor wet and full up with water to 1.5 cm while taking a shower (I talked to the service guy and he said he will...

First the steep stairs, NO GOOD specially if u got seniors with you. I had 3 rooms booked, all of 'em got drainage problem, hot water broke so had to go to a different room to shower. Super under staff we stayed there for 4 nights and only saw people at the front desk which was btw all the way at the top with people literally twice our whole stay there. Pool was dirty and covered(basically unavailable to use), when we checked in, there was no toilet paper so we had to buy some. The linen and towels were stained and stank. They cleaned the 3rd day and changed it to a better one..
Also, there were a time where there were no power for at least 2 hrs and it was just miserable. They did not have any back up power
The whole entire place was just a rundown tbh. If y'all can add more to y'all's budget for a better accomodations I would say do so. The only good thing about this place is that it is closer to the most quiet beach out in boracay which is the diniwid beach. But that was it. Also the stores around it...
