Robinsons Supermarket Station B Mall, Boracay — Local services in Malay

Any long/short term tourists coming to Boracay, read, this might benefit you. This mall is right on the main road just past Station one, you cannot really miss it. This mall consists of 4 main shops. I will write about them below as they do not show up as individual stores.

Robinsons Supermarket 4/5

Good supermarket with a vast offering of basic food items. The dairy section has cheese and yogurts which is a rarity in Boracay. There is a counter for No Brand, the Korean brand. The meat section is clean but it's a big let down, most of the meats are dry and look stale. We try to buy our meat at City Mall for this reason. There is a Chooks to Go which sells grilled chicken and a bakery within the store. The store check out is generally very quick, the staff are pleasant and always helpful and serving with a smile.

This is a hardware shop which sells everything from home appliances to basic electronics such as extension boards, bulbs, batteries etc. The checkout is too delayed, everytime they have to find someone to check us out and the card does not work as they do not have a internet connection. However, if you want something related you can get it here.

Rose Pharmacy and Mercury Pharmacy 4/5

There are two pharmacies, noth nice and well stocked. While the Rose pharmacy is an attachment to the supermarket, Mercury is on the first floor and a lot bigger than Rose Pharmacy.

The whole second floor is occupied by this massive shop which sells mostly plastic items. Will never go back to the Happy Go Shopping Department Store.

I have been a regular customer of the said department store, but what I encountered today is unacceptable.

Me and my sister were happily shopping for my niece's drawing materials, I then went to pay the cashier, and as I was about to hand my receipt to the exit guard, he rudely told me that he will check our bags.

Mind you, this is not the first time I went shopping with a BAG and I was NEVER EVER CHECKED UPON EXIT.

I kindly handed him our receipt but he instead, insisted to check our bags first, as if we stole something. What's that supposed to mean???

I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I am still overthinking and stressing why he have to be so rude. If he ever really needs to check our bags because of a Protocol, at least be NICE. This is such an...
