I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Auhana Boracay hotel in the beautiful Philippines, and I must say, the hotel staff truly made my experience unforgettable. From the moment I walked into the hotel, I was greeted with genuine smiles and warm hospitality, setting the tone for an incredible stay.
The staff at Auhana Boracay went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was exceptional. They were always ready to assist with any request or question, making me feel like a valued guest. Whether I needed recommendations for local attractions or help with arranging transportation, they were knowledgeable and eager to help.
One thing that stood out to me was their exceptional attention to detail. Every time I returned to my room, it was immaculately cleaned and everything was perfectly organized. The staff even took the time to leave thoughtful touches, such as a handwritten note, which added an extra level of care and personalisation to my stay.
Not only were the hotel staff attentive and professional, but they also made me feel like a part of their family. They took the time to learn my name and preferences, anticipating my needs before I even had to ask. I was truly impressed by their ability to make me feel at home in a foreign place.
The hotel staff at Auhana Boracay also excelled in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. During my stay, I had the chance to interact with several different team members, and each one displayed genuine kindness and friendliness. Their positive energy and enthusiasm were contagious, making my stay all the more enjoyable. On personal levels i can't go any further without special mentions of names. I've visited hotels across the world on a frequent basis and ive never encountered a such captivating team. My stays world wide have included stays at 7star locations such as Burj Al Arab, dubai etc. So the special mentions and thank you's go to : Creselle - the warmest welcoming, funniest hotel staff member ive ever met. Shaine - works hand in hand with Cresselle and is always to hand with the hugest smile. Bianca - can never do enough for you and everything is attended to with perfection. Aivan - one of the kindest staff members ive ever encountered. Aizyl - another extreme polite and welcoming member of staff. Jamella - super attentive and always has a smile to give. Raisa - a truly great member of staff. Bryx - a professional and fun member of staff that makes you feel part of the family. John - a superb member of staff. Benisa - the team manager, wow wow wow. She leads the team with precision and happiness thats reflects to the whole teams service. Tatay Rey - so helpful at all times, a real gem of a security guard by the beach restaurant. Arman - the bar man. Exceptional great service from a wonderful guy who's always happy to pass the drinks knowledge on to you.
In addition to their outstanding service, the hotel staff were extremely knowledgeable about the local area. Whether I was looking for the best beach to visit or the most authentic local cuisine, they were always ready with insightful recommendations. Their expertise and passion for their surroundings truly enhanced my overall experience in Boracay.
Overall, the hotel staff at Auhana Boracay surpassed all of my expectations. Their exceptional service, attention to detail, warm hospitality, and genuine care for their guests made my stay an unforgettable one. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, and I am already looking forward to my next visit where I can further experience their...
Read moreIt is hard to keep it short. I will try to focus and to give a helpful rating for future guests:
The positive aspects first:
The hotel is situated on a very quiet part of the beach.
All employees with whom guests directly have contact are nice and friendly. Everyone smiles and is very helpful. But these are just the people you have contact with. Behind the scenes, exactly the opposite might happen.
One exceptional employee, however, has made my stay a really remarkable stay (Mr. Cali). He showed me the hotel at the beginning and was very helpful in every respect and always nice and understanding. He speaks excellent English. He personally deserves the 5 stars! If he was not there, I would have asked for a refund due to many problems here.
The (many) minus points:
a. The price-performance ratio is bad
b. The reservation was absurd
Even though I asked if there were any constructions sites near the hotel (which was answered in the negative), I was placed in a room next to a construction site.
c. The opening hours of the restaurants and gym are absurd
Gym has a break between 10 am and 4 pm (without any clear reason, except for saving money on staff).
d. Mistrust of guests at every turn (!)
The hotel is designed in such a way that the guests are basically not allowed to do much and the owner's property is secured. That is why I believe that many of the following points are dictated from the very top down. It is so absurd:
There is a price list of all the items (like an inventory) in the room. Behind it there is a price for each item. Of course it says above it that the items can be purchased. But in reality, the point is that if something is stolen or damaged, there is no need to discuss the amount of damage. This will then probably be deducted directly from the deposit (25,000 pesos !!!!). So under the guise of a shopping list I can buy "do not disturb" signs for 500 pesos. Why??? The sign is hanging outside most of the time, can't everybody take it with them and I have to pay? What is wrong with management?
And again, the deposit is 25,000 pesos. In any other 5-star hotel I paid a deposit of about 5,000 pesos at most. The furniture of the room is worth less than the deposit and I cannot eat and drink so much during the days that I completely exhaust the deposit. So why?
Also you can't control the temperature from the room. There is a display in the room that simulates that you can change the temperature. But actually, the temperature is centrally controlled so that the guest has to call if the guest is cold. I was only informed about this after an employee checked my display. There is no need to check the display if you already know that it is centrally controlled. The temperature of the room should always be left to the guest. Everything else is patronization. So why?
A day before check out, you are reminded to check out no later than noon and on the letter you are asked for „prompt compliance“. This is patronising.
e. Miscellaneous
There are so many more things to add, but google has a limit on the text here. Like breakfast vouchers for each do yay your staying, but if you lose it, you are screwed (The voucher says it is „non-refundable and non-replacable in case of loss“. Are you serious about this??). I wrote a long review on tripadvisor....
Read moreThis is a nice huge property that has everything for a great vacation. Unfortunately all of it is negated by some extremely poor orientation that the management has inculcated right from the managers all the way to the last man standing.
Our ordeal started right from check in. We were a few hours early. Despite having 500 rooms the property management was unable to get us a room a few hours ahead of check in. We understand the Holiday rush, but we are seasoned travellers who can distinguish where it's about attitude and where its abt reality.
We were asked for a deposit of 25000 despite our booking being a fully paid for reservation. No expectations were ever set ahead of our arrival while we made this reservation.
The property management is extremely nervous abt their assets. So much so that they have a placard in the room which details the cost of every item in the room! All the way from the glasses, bedsheets, towels... can you believe it! This with the guise of indicating that these are for sale if need be! Are customers so naive?? Do they come to your property to buy mirrors and table lamps??! We also carry valuables which don't fit in your lockers.. should customers behave with you the way you behave with us!?!
Connectivity: without a regular shuttle you will be stuck in the hotel. Even public transportation is very difficult to get due to its location. Most hotels in boracay offer shuttle services however here there are several hours without no service on account of lunch and dinner breaks. Hence if you don't stick to their schedule you will be stuck with no transportation to get to the town. (it's a good 30 min walk from the hotel to Jolibee)
Check out- the property gives you a check out slip indicating all is well with the room! With the core purpose being to ensure all their assets are still there while you checked out.
Also they call you a day before the check out to remind you that you need to stick to your check out timings.
New year party- again no food options for vegans at the buffet. Most guests decided to go to the boracay town. Unless you enquired with the management you wouldn't even know there was a party! So no one even knew what was being offered.
The property is at the premium end of pricing. We have been to top notch hotels across the world. But what we saw here was a brand that was not established and lacks the basic skills in hotel management....Which is the root cause of my above observations.
For Vegans- there are absolutely no options for vegans. You will just be left to survive on fruits, bread, and cornflakes.
Overall a very good property led by a very narrow minded management orienting its staff to think and behave in a similar manner with their guests. This will result in customers choosing other properties at the same price range to be a hotel of...
