Not very good. We've been staying in various Sogo locations throughout Central Luzon and Metro Manila for years. This has to be the worst one. The way it's set up could be considered a bit charming if everything wasn't so shoddy. We came in through the Mabini side this time. There's the facade of a lobby there that's been closed for at least a year now and if you're on foot you need to walk through a dark tunnel made only for cars. There's an exposed wire hanging from the ceiling about halfway through. They should be absolutely embarrassed by this. They make money hand over fist but don't give a damn about the most basic things. Once you get in there you may or may not be greeted by a worker who will give you a pedicab ride to the "lobby" which is an outdoor area where you stand around in the hot sun waiting to pay. There is nowhere to sit while you wait for them to figure everything out, you're on your own there. Once they give you a number to wait, we were told it would take an hour and it did, then you go to the waiting room. It's a tiny room next to the outdoor "lobby" with a TV and an air conditioner. Since the door is kept permanently open the air conditioner does less than an electric fan and just serves to waste electricity. Once we finally got to our room we had to walk up three flights of stairs. The locks are not electric, just old fashioned key locks. The first thing we noticed upon entering the room is that it smelled of beer. On the first night the wifi was slow and barely usable, we had to pull out our pocket wifi. This was no longer a problem in the morning which suggests to me that they're just too cheap to pay for a connection that supports a large hotel like this with so many guests. Staying here is a very poor value for your money. There are far cheaper places on airbnb and agoda that actually make an effort not to suck. We wouldn't have stayed here if it wasn't a last minute trip. Despite that they didn't meet our already low expectations of what a stay at...
Read moreI been in a lot of Hotel Sogo around here in Philippines, but in this place, only in this place everything is broken, don't have a good service also. Can't use the Television. Remote is broken. Light in the Bathroom is creepy, it's turning on and off itself, don't know what happen. The air-con making loud sound. The place is so creepy, like in a horror movie. I fell scared a little specially that I'm staying alone. I make a call to the front disk to ask some help and to order food. I already make a lot of call and no one answering my call,.. I'm so disappointed with this place. So I ordered food through Grab food and didn't use the air-con. I checked out in the morning because they don't have this good service in this hotel. I transfer to...
Read moreThis hotel's name is actually just "Hotel Sogo Malate", not sure where the Quirino came from. It's on Mabini Street.||I originally booked for 3 nights but then extended for another 3 nights because it was a good price and not far from Robinson's mall. ||The food is brought to your room via room service. All wrapped in cling film. Just like the old quarantine days. Not particularly good quality but arrived quickly. Staff In the hotel were generally helpful and friendly.||Handy 7Eleven opposite. Trike drivers also hanging around there. Don't bother haggling with them. Just jump into any passing Jeepney and get off at Robin's mall,...
