Had a disappointing Sunday brunch here. There were TWO salad bars on opposite ends of the room (not sure if this was an attempt to serve much less food than usual), and no canapes as can be observed on other days. Instead, there was an extensive spread of nuts and dried fruit that took a large chunk of the table. Beside that was a spread of dips, butters, and jams that seemed to be carelessly labeled. Instead of following the layout of the dips, the labels were just written randomly on the space below, so unless it was really obvious, you'd have to make a hard guess about what you were scooping onto your plate. Their baked oysters were dry and rendered inedible as both the cheese and oysters have turned into a crisp. The risotto was also sadly bland. Over the phone, we were told that there was more seafood on Sunday's brunch vs Sunday's dinner. Yet comparing to other reviews, the sashimi station seemed lacking as there were only 3 choices of fish vs 4 to 5 that we've observed on other days. Their tuna sashimi looked incredibly pale, which probably contributed to their spicy tuna salad not tasting too great. Even the cold seafood bar was quite disappointing for a Sunday brunch that supposedly boasted "more seafood" compared to dinner.
This restaurant has a few redeeming qualities, their prime rib is wonderful. The siomai and hakaw are hefty and tastes of good quality ingredients. There's an extensive selection for dessert and ice cream that sweet tooths would love. The ambiance is quite nice due to their big windows.
There are a lot of buffets that are "quality over quantity". However, I think this place pales in comparison to other buffets that actually acheive that. Would give a much lower rating than 3 stars but thankfully they have their prime rib going for them. It was really the only enjoyable thing that made the whole lunch worthy to being...
Read moreWalked in just before sunset and the place already felt special—soft music, big windows facing the bay, and that funky “catwalk” table in the middle with moving visuals. It’s not a giant, chaotic buffet. It’s tighter, calmer, and honestly, easier to enjoy without getting food FOMO. Game plan that worked: start with sushi and sashimi. Cuts were clean and fresh—salmon and tuna went fast for a reason. Then hit the noodle station. The laksa’s the move if spice is the love language; if not, udon in a lighter broth still hits the spot. Save room for the roast beef. It’s carved to temp, seasoned right, and kind of becomes the unofficial main dish of the night. It’s not a “try 100 things once” buffet—it’s more “go back for seconds of the good stuff.” That also means the food stays fresher, which shows. Desserts lean curated over crowded. The chocolate cake is a reliable closer, and the ice cream flavors are fun enough to feel like a mini detour (yes, get two scoops). Service is the quiet MVP. Plates disappear before anyone has to ask, drinks get topped up, and staff actually point out what’s freshest or what just came out. If there are food restrictions, they don’t make it awkward—they’ll work with it. Couple of wishes: a few classic desserts could use a little more oomph, and coffee included at lunch would be great. Price is on the premium side, but the view, service, and how consistent the food is make it feel worth it—especially for birthdays, date nights, or when Manila Bay decides to show off at golden hour. Bottom line: Not the biggest buffet in town, but one of the easiest to enjoy. Go in with a plan—sushi, roast beef, laksa, ice cream—and let the view...
Read moreWe availed the seafood night promo but not worth. The price compared to Spiral buffet , Sofitel hotel is considered expensive. The lobster is good for one round only unlike in Spiral the serving was unlimited and fresh. The lobster is too salty and less meat. The pastries are just ordinary. Not worth celebrating birthdays. The most I like was the ambiance and one of their food servers, Roy, is highly commended. It is pet friendly though. But the assistant manager was not friendly. The whole time, Roy is the only lively, polite and has superb customer service. Unlike the assistant Manager, Micka, you can feel the negative vibes on her. I thought I was the only one felt that but when I've asked my friends they had the same comment. Her approach was insincere and her smile was fake. She has poor leadership and customer service. There were few guests only but their service seems the area is crowded. I've asked the other server for a claw cracker and it was already 30 minutes and yet there was no claw cracker been given to us. I've just asked Roy for it and right away he gave it to us. I've confirmed my reservation 2 days prior to our dine in and informed that we will celebrate someone's birthday. But on that day there was no note about that! The assistant manager approached us when I've asked about that and again you can feel the insincerity from her. She should not be a front liner. She has lack of flexibility and lack of customer service unlike Roy and Ms Isa of Ruby Wong's Godown Bar. NO MORE...
