We decided to look for a unique, old classy hotel for our Holy Week vacation.

Location - 5/5 Perfect location because it is walking distance from Robinsons Manila. A lot of nearby convenience stores, coffee shops (Starbucks), restaurants, fast food (McDonald’s), bar and you can also explore baywalk.

Parking - 0/5 the moment we arrived, no secured parking space provided. You will need to park along the street which is “park at your own risk”.

At the lobby - 0/5 we booked and paid online to make sure a seamless transaction upon arrival. We booked for a room and upgrade it with free breakfast. However, after providing the booking confirmation, the old and unfriendly receptionist seems not aware and needed to contact someone over the phone to check our booking. Provided old file for me to write on manually. As she is about to end the conversation, I asked for the breakfast voucher, which the receptionist is not aware and even told me, it is not included, not until I present again my booking confirmation with the breakfast details that has been paid. After confirming, she gave pointed the elevator and gave the key.

Lobby - 0/5 old, unmaintained, untidy with unorganized stuff and catholic images/altar.

Elevator - 0/5 it is an old creepy elevator. Buttons are not functioning and you know that it is unsafe one. We experienced going up, pressed 6, but we stopped at the 5th. Initially, we thought we are on the 6th we walked and tried to open a room, however it is not opening, until we realized we are on the wrong floor. That was so embarrassing.

Hallway - 3/5 it is acceptable old hallway but it would be better if the floor is clean and shiny.

Room - 0/5 all the furnitures are trash. Unfixed, without proper maintenance. Please see the details below: Television - included (cable) Mini Refrigerator- included (not working) Aircon - included (fair) Service water - not included Glass - included (2)

CR - 0/5 you can still see moss in the wall. The flush is not working, that we need to request for a bucket. Shower doesn’t have any pressure, and water heater is not functioning as well. Please see the toiletries below: Soap - included (2) Toothpaste - included (2) Shampoo - included (2) Tissue - included (1) Towel - included (2) Toothbrush - not included

WiFi - 0/5 is just a word. It is not working at all during our stay.

Breakfast - 0/5 it is paid on top of the room accommodation. But we only received 1 set breakfast, and it is just 2 slices of bread with butter and jam and coffee. We ended up ordering online.

Staff - 0/5 they are not friendly, and accommodating.

Actually, minutes after entering the room, we are thinking of leaving the place, but we checked the confirmation, refund is not applicable. So we just have to bear the consequences.

There a lot of hotels with cheaper rate and good facilities than this hotel. Look for other instead.

FYI - We paid...

Manila is one of the most polluted capital cities in the world because the government does nothing about vehicle exhaust emissions, with their own subsidised public transport buses being among the worst culprits, one of the knock on effects being that any property in the city suffers from insidious dirt both outside and inside. Manila Manor Hotel, which looks like it was built in the 1970’s, is no exception, and the cumulative dirt of the past 40 years has certainly made its mark on it. In fact, absolutely nothing has changed since then in this time capsule of an hotel. Everything that was once white is now a dirty grey including walls, towels, curtains and bedsheets. The carpets and paint work are original, nothing has been repaired – or if it has been attempted, it’s been bodged. The rooms are worse than student accommodation – in fact I have worked in prisons which have had better facilities, especially in the bathroom whose taps all leak if they work at all, and have irritating details like the toilet roll holder doesn’t, there’s no shower head fixing and the ceiling looks like it fall down at any moment – the water bulge is very precarious. They boast the smallest double beds in the world with only one old sheet on the mattress, and old, tired, broken furniture. The TV and wifi are a joke, the room smells of anti mosquito spray, but the mosquitos seem now immune to it – and even some of the cockroaches were complaining about the conditions. The bedroom walls are very thin and you can hear even whispered conversations from the rooms next door. I know it’s only fifteen quid a night, but the fact is that there are other hotels here at the same price that are like the Hilton in comparison. The Architect must have been embarrased with the outside so decided to create n olde worlde reception area from toyland - it's interesting but very out of place. The area is very busy and noisy but convenient if you like the touristy shopping areas. The only good thing about the hotel is the staff who were...

Got this at a discounted rate in Agoda. I honestly wasn't expecting much since I've stayed in budget hotels before but their room was below my expectations. I don't know why the room reviews were mostly positive because ours wasn't. The hallway (3rd floor) was humid and moldy-looking but I was hoping the room would be a little bit better. It wasn't. The bed was good but the rest of the room didn't feel like it was wiped off. The bathroom was the worst part. The sink clogged every time you used it because someone poured instant noodles on the drain. So every time we used it, the sink would flood with bits of instant noodles. The bathroom smelled like it hasn't been scrubbed or cleaned in a while (like, a public restroom smell) and there were molds everywhere. I honestly couldn't even take a shower. I'm also not usually picky or squeamish but the bathroom of this one just made me feel like I'm using a public toilet instead of a hotel comfort room. The location is really the highlight of this hotel. It's right outside Robinsons Mall and is a short walking distance to the US Embassy. Disclaimer: I have stayed in budget hotels before so I think I have realistic expectations of the quality for the price.
