One has to recognize that this is a budget hotel, and that 1,200 pesos/night makes for low-cost accommodations, however, Eurotel isn’t even worth that. The bare minimum that one would expect a hotel to do, is avoided at all costs, it seems. It’s understandable that each guest will have a different experience, however, I will share mine. Our flight arrived in Manila at 6:00 AM. My friend and I asked if it would be possible to store our luggage until it was time to check in, and we were immediately met with hostility. The woman at the front desk gave us attitude and rolled her eyes. As we were giving them our bags, I decided to grab something from my bag and we were met with more attitude. Let bygones be bugones, I will now give a list of items I found unacceptable. 1)the blankets are paper thin. If you want to have a proper duvet, they charge you. It’s not a lot, but it’s rather silly for a hotel to nickel and dime something that should have been there otherwise.2) I asked reception to put am extra pillow, the blanket I had now paid for, and two bottles if water in the room for when I got back (I left the hotel at 19:00). I arrived at 4:00 AM, and to my surprise, none of the itemized list above had been completed. The room beside me was still partying as I went to bed, which isn’t a bug deal in itself, I did come in at 4:00. What infuriated me was the drilling and construction. The hotel did have a sign stating that they were conducting renovations, but at 8:00 am on a Saturday morning that lasted all day was quite silly. Why not have the renovations begin at 12:00. Why disrupt the entire hotel so early, and on weekend. It seemed inconsiderate, or at the very least, that absolutely zero fucks were given towards the comfortability of its guests. Organize renovations to occur on weekdays from 11:00-17:00 or something, not 8:00 on a Saturday morning. 3) I called reception to bring spoons to my room. After ten minutes, I went down to reception to ask for/get spoons. 4) My air conditioner remote wasn’t working. Also, my friend’s air conditioner was leaking. 5) I asked for two waters as I was leaving for the day and they wanted to charge me. That may sound petty, however, it’s water. They don’t bring water to your room everyday, and then to charge is just a strategy to scrimp on money. 6) If you ask them to clean the room, they will fix the bed and lazily fold the duvet, maybe replace the tissue, but “clean” is not what happens. The same towels reused, but just folded. The tables aren’t wiped or cleaned, wrappers are still on the ground. Again, it may seem petty to pick apart every little detail, but it is only because there wasn’t a single thing they did that can be labeled as accommodating. As someone who has travelled across East and South East Asia, this was by far the worse experience, despite being a similar price.A quick note on the location. It’s not that great. There’s an extremely high rate of homelessness and crime. Somebody pretended to bump into me and I felt their hand slide into my pocket. I told them “what the **, you just took my phone.” They replied, “what? No I didn’t.” Then I saw them holding my phone towards their stomach and I swiftly grabbed it and just kept walking. Point is, it’s a little...
Read moreHotel Location is the Best and accesible especially to a shopping Mall. First touch down in the hotel entrance when we arrived. One very kind Gentle man welcome us his checking the guest temperature. I don't know his name but I really appreciate his hospitality qualities. They give me the Suite room which is nice a bit bigger for me since it is single occupancy. I am grateful with that. Honestly the room is not much clean, cleaning quality is a bit poor. Floor were dirty with marks and stains, especially the toilet bowl. Touchpoints like Dining Table,Mirrors, Dresser, tv remote just scattered in the bed area which is to be place near telephone area. Most of All Bed Sheets,Pillowcases, it looks it was not change at all marks, and stains are visible to it. And some dust particles on the other bed mean single Bed. Water heater still filled with water maybe from the previous guest. I didn't complained anything, i really do understand the Hk Job especially on busy times and time pressures that they couldn't do much to make it all perfectly but atleast on the bed side areas where Guest will sleep on it. Before releasing the room or make it inspected. It should be well cleaned and hygienic atleast since we are facing a great world wide pandemic for our own safety. It doesn't matter the hotel is 3 star the facilties a bit older, we will not ensure the hygiene atleast and safety of our Guest. Midnight around 12am i called in reception to ask water a gentleman answered he was very attentive the water came right away. Next day second night around 9:50pm I called in reception for water since water is not really enough for me cause im use to drink more water to be hydrated always one lady answered. Later on 12:06am the water didnt came still even i check outside the door I called again to follow up and she said maybe he is busy and more request. Then 1 after 1 minute bottles water came. When I ask her if it is allowed to give extra water she said yes which is good, if the runner is very busy and too much request i would consider, but if the receptionist forgot because she got busy of check in & Out and she forgot to handover to runner then it is not reasonable. If I have a choice to go out i would really do it myself. But i dont have any choice. If they are doing a cost saving i would really understand atleast i can find a way gow to grab water outside not to wait for 2 hrs and 16 minutes before my water delivered in the room. Next day 3rd day 4:29pm i called in reception for assistance nobody answered, second time nobody answered, third time after few minutes atlas my call got answered. She was very nice and accommodating. If she got busy of other calls, or shes having check in, doing multi tasking job alone but atleast try to give a call back to the call you missed from guest. I do believe call log history is available. Lastly, if the hotel is not serving at the moment room service orders from their food menu atleast they will remove the food menu inside the room. Rest is all good, I hope that they would treat all Guest fair and equal no matter what if the payment is coming directly from Guest or through city ledger. Hoping for the best and Great improvement in the future. Thank you...
Read moreThe Eurotel Pedro Gil is a no frills hotel located across the street from Robinsons Mall Manila. Just that alone makes it a worthwhile place to stay. But as cheap hotels go, you get what you pay for at this place. The room I had, a studio, was exactly that, a small room with enough space for a bed, desk and a shower. But it had a television with an adequate number of English speaking stations, including HBO and CNN Philippines. And there was enough closet space for one person. The air conditioner in the room worked just fine, but it was as loud as a jet engine, so sleeping with the thing on is not an option. The mattress is not exactly a mattress. More like a sleeping pad, and it is accompanied by two sheets, no quilt or comforter, which in that weather, would not be required. The temperature in the room without the AC was mild, probably around 20 degrees Celsius, which was tolerable. But after a long day of wandering around, you can still get some sleep. The shower, accompanied by two towels, is fine. Water temperature is decent and controllable. They do provide a pair of toothbrushes, soap, and some kind of toothpaste packet, which I was unable to open. The lobby doubles as the dining room, and since this is not the first Eurotel I've stayed in (previous stay was in 2020 at the Clark Air Base area across from the SM Mall), this appears to be the norm, so you get the chance to enjoy breakfast while watching people check in. Not a big deal, but it does get a little crowded. There is one elevator for guests (not sure if I could have used the other one, since there was no entrance for it in the lobby) in this seven floor building. Housekeeping? Forget about it. Upon request, I guess. Never got any additional water during the five days that I was there, but again, the mall is across the street...As for the food, it is actually VERY GOOD. I had a couple of entrees and they were both delicious as well as decently priced. They have a wide selection of native and Western style meals. The manager was a pretty cool guy, and I did have a situation where the staff tried to assist, so kudos to them as well. One catch. If you opt to work with them to get you to the airport, its 700 pesos. Catch a Grab car for 400.Overall, just because it does not have a lot doesn't mean it isn't valuable. I'd stay there again, only maybe I'd splurge for...
