Pros: Near the LRT Buendia Station and bus stations (example: DLTB bus station)
Near 7-11 convenience store and some fast food restaurants
The Sakura-themed room design was chic and modern.
+Have hair dryer and soap
Food was delivered within 10 minutes (and the food delivery guy was pleasant and efficient).
They ask for the customer's ID which is good for the hotel's security.
Affordable rates
Cons: The executive room is not thoroughly cleaned. The bedsheets and pillowcases do not look like they're newly changed (suspiciously super "gusot")..they seem to be merely neatly folded to look like they're fresh sheets.
When my sister was holding the menu booklet, her fingers felt something sticky on it...and it doesn't look like it's from the food.
-I called the hotel and was informed that there is an available DeLuxe room, they quoted the rate and they got my name. I told the reception staff that we will take a taxi right away to get there from the airport. When we came in, they offered different (and more expensive) rooms instead because the DeLuxe room is already booked. They did not inform me over the phone that it's a first-come-first-served basis and that reservations through phone are not honored.
-To the management: TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO BE MORE POLITE AND RESPECTFUL WHEN ASKING INFORMATION FROM AND RELATING TO FEMALE CUSTOMERS. We had a reservation for 3 people. When I went down to the lobby alone to wait for my sister, a male staff immediately and suspiciously asked me about my room number, and if someone is in the room because he said he is going to call and confirm from my companion if he is aware that I'm going out. The manner in which he asked and said it offended me.When I confronted him and asked for an explanation, he said that since Sogo is a "motel", it's a company policy to make sure that the companion doesn't 'trick' the customer and leave without their knowledge. TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO REFER AND TREAT YOUR BUILDING AS A "HOTEL" AND NOT a MOTEL...as the name implies, it's 'Hotel' Sogo. Whatever happened to Hotel Sogo's efforts on making the hotel's image seem "wholesome" and "family-oriented"?..I was staying there with family members. Whatever company policy you have, it should be relayed to the customers in a polite and respectful manner regardless of...
Read moreInitially I was reluctant to use a SOGO hotel given previous poor reviews however this branch seemed to be an exception. I needed a place to rest for 12 hours between bus arrival and flight departure and had noticed the convenient location straight across from the bus depot a few days previously so I decided to give it a go.||||This is a budget hotel next to a bus station which rents rooms by the hour and doesn't allow children on the premises so know what to expect. I chose an Executive room which can be had in 12 or 24 blocks with additional hours available, Econ rooms are rented in shorter blocks best suited to their intended use.||||The room was a pleasant surprise, clean and renovated with everything working. It wasn't too far behind a Tune/Red Planet room. There was a small toiletries packet, safe, tv with adult channels, towels and top sheet were in a sealed pack from the laundry. Wifi was very fast and room service was available. Staff were friendly and helpful.||||There is a security guard outside 24 hours, this is not an area you want to be walking around in the dark so take a taxi to and from the hotel at night.||||This hotel is best used for a short transit between flights and buses or a couple who need a room for a short time. The best feature is the ability to walk in at 5.00am and pay for 12 hours where as most hotels do in at 2.00pm and out at 11.00am. The price was reasonable, even at the higher weekend rate and suited what I wanted, which was somewhere to leave my bags for a few hours while I went to the Mall of Asia, get a few hours sleep and a shower before leaving for the airport at 3.00am.||||I would happily...
Read moreApril 6, 2018- I decided to get a room in the Gil Puyat (LRT Buendia) branch. First off, there are no other available rooms but the Excutive and Regency ones so I chose the cheaper one for 3 hours. ||At first I thought it was a good deal, the room looked decent as I get in. But things started to get awful.||- Bedsheet, blanket, and pillow cases does not look or smell clean. If the lights are not dim, I bet that I am going to be horrified with what I will see. ||- I am almost done when the water begins to feel warm, so yes I had to take a cold shower at first.||-There are flies (LANGAW!) and I was able to kill three of them. ||-My skin felt itchy after using their linens. So either they didn't rinse it off properly or they are using a very strong detergent. ||||Please spare yourself from the grossness of this hotel. If you have a budget, choose a better place. This one's for "short-timers" as they say.... No.... I am...
