FreeDive Inn - Freediving School — Hotel in Puerto Galera

We stayed at Freedive Inn for two nights but could easily have stayed so much longer. It is one of the best budget accommodations we have found so far in the Philippines. Great location, right on the beach with a reef for snorkeling just meters away, the rooms are well decorated and comfortable, the food is good, tasty and home cooked and the team look after you so well. There are plenty of communal areas which create a real family feel, but also means there is enough space for guests to do their own thing, whether relaxing, working or even doing yoga on the balcony overlooking the beach. ||||We arranged a private snorkeling tour in their boat and had a great afternoon exploring the local coves and bays, and Lawrence the captain made sure we went to spots that weren't full of other tourist boats which was great.||||They have all the kit available for snorkeling and freediving and offer freediving courses and fundives if you're already qualified. Alex is an experienced instructor and we had some great fundives with him - whether you're a beginner or experienced this place is worth checking out.||||The beach is beautiful, plenty of space to enjoy and shade for when it gets too hot. You can walk along the beach and scramble over a few rocks to get to White Beach and all the local bars and restaurants (or you can climb the stairs and take the road if scrambling isn't your thing). Plus the sunsets are amazing, best viewing spot is sitting on the patio out the front...

The most comfortable inn in this part of Puerto Galera municipality. Mila & Alex are hospitable hosts, always helpful and resourceful.

The building is in great condition, with power generators running whenever necessary (no small thing in Mindoro). Wifi is good. Drinking water on every floor. Bed was comfortable, shower heater worked well. Aircon works and isn't noisy, and by the way that's no small advantage in the Philippines. They have a kitchen where you can order great meals, I recommend their Adobo. Prices are reasonable. You can also cook your own meals, which is very much appreciated.

One cool thing is that FreeDive Inn guys equipped their part of the beach with a fresh water shower. Fantastic! I believe it's the only beach shower in this part of PG. Very comfy. Many beaches in vicinity lack that minimal infrastructure.

Do explore the area around - local mounts, White Beach town, Aninuan village. It's tranquil and accessible.

I'm not a diver, so this is a regular customer review. If you don't dive, it is still awesome to be on that beach, with a view and snorkeling option. They'll provide you with all necessary equipment.
