Mendelluke Suites — Hotel in Puerto Galera

I WENT ON LINE MAY 3 AT 8:00 THAILAND TIME; TO RENT THE SUITE FOR JUNE 2 AND JUNE 3. 40 SQ METERS AND A SPECIAL TREAT FOR MY FUTURE WIFE AND I. HOWEVER, THE ROOM WAS LISTED AS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THOSE TWO NIGHTS. SO, I BOOKED A STANDARD ROOM WITH NO VIEW AND NOT WHAT I WANTED. THE NEXT MORNING ON CHECKED AND THE ROOM ON MAY 4 WAS AVAILABLE FOR THE TWO DAYS I WANTED TO BOOK THE ROOM! I WENT ON LINE/ AND IS ALWAYS THE CASE HAVING A HUMAN RESPOND TO ANY ON LINE REQUEST IS A NON STARTER. WHEN WILL HOTELS ALL AROUND PLANET EARTH REALIZE THAT THE WORD 'SERVICE' IS THE BACKBONE OF RUNNING ANY TYPE OF HOTEL!

CAN YOU ACTUALLY IMAGINE SOMEONE RESPONDING TO A REQUEST IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME AND ACTUALLY CORRECTING A PROBLEM WITHOUT ME AND YOU HAVING TO GO THROUGH 20 MINUTES OF QUALIFYING INFORMATION.

WHEN INTERNET CAME INTO EXISTENCE, THE PURPOSE WAS TO EXPEDITE ... INSTEAD YOU ARE SUBJECTED TO A NON FUNCTIONAL, REDUNDANT SERIES OF LOOPS.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AS ANTIQUATED AS BEING ABLE TO SAY HELLO TO A STRANGER WITHOUT BEING: MACED, TAZERED OR SHOT!

THERE IS NO WHERE ON ANY OF THE BOOKING SERVICES FOR ME TO UPGRADE MY ROOM. BESIDES, AT THIS JUNCTURE, THEY WOULD PROBABLY CHARGE ME FOR BOTH ROOMS FOR THE SAME 2 DAYS AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR AN EXTRA ROOM.

The only good thing is that their property is at the beach front. The rest is just terrible. We reserved a family suite and there were a LOT of mosquitoesj when we first arrived! Felt like no one even bothered to clean it before our reservation dates. Never maintained. Tables, curtains and cabinets are dusty too and the shower drain stinks. Airconditioning is poor as it comes with a heavy loud banging sound aside from it suddenly stopping from time to time. We booked for 3D2N and we barely had a good sleep because of it! The busboys also didnt clean the room when we requested them to! We asked them to do their cleaning at around 10 am but we were told to just wait for a little for about 5x. We stayed there until 3pm just to wait for our room to be cleaned which didnt happen! We even followed up many times to which they responded a cold “sige po”. So we just asked for a broom and new rugs and did the cleaning ourselves!! Buti na lang the beach is good and we made ourselves busy with outdoor activities. The ates at the front desk are ok though. Although the Mendelluke,s suites are right on White Beach and they charge beachfront property prices they do not offer value for money for the price being charged. There are no bathroom provisions, no refrigerator kettle or in room coffee facilities , NO wifi and the air conditioner sounds like a jet engine, room servicing is very minimal and if you want clean linen you have to really ask for it. The property offers no restaurant or food facilities, although there are many food outlets nearby. There are no paved paths on the property and you need to walk across sand to get to your room which means sand is carried into all rooms. All the time. There is no view of the beach from the back block of rooms. The attic style room promoted as the best room is really not worth the extra charge.
