J&B Pension House — Hotel in Puerto Princesa

Friendly staff. Breakfast okay. Stayed 7 nights. ||||BUT: ||||Terrible location. Nothing around. Zilch. Just crowing roosters and barking dogs. Room never cleaned and no clean sheets provided.||||Poor WiFi. Unable to access multiple devices from many locations. Unstable and frequent signal drops. ||||Poor AC. Small wall-mounted bedroom AC could not AC the L-shaped and largely empty and useless living area. Sink and cupboards, but nothing in them. Just a trickle from kitchen sink; no hot water from bathroom sink. No frig. Tiny bathroom. No couch, just uncomfortable wooden bench. Bizarre 5 meters between the wooden bench and the small (24”) wall-mounted TV monitor. ||||Electric power frequently died, 6 times in first 24 hours. Usually just a few minutes, but once every 3-4 hours? One water stoppage that lasted 9+ hours.||||Tours can only be paid in ‘cash’, no credit card. Cock-up with the ‘Honda Bay Island tour’. Paid for 3 islands (with excellent weather and seas which we had), and had to negotiate getting to just a 2nd island. Return shuttle to airport was 30 minutes...

My friends and me stayed in Puerto Princessa for 3 nights - the room was spacious & clean. They were very friendly and helped us a lot with recommendations to eat, for spa (close to the hotel in walking distance, the massage was very good) and tours (underground river, islanf hopping etc. Breakfast is included in the price and was good. The tour to the underground river was really nice - but you need a lot og patience, because you have to wait in a queue for approx. 2hrs but the staff told us this before. I can only recommend to stay in...

Booked a very spacious air-conditioned one-bedroom unit good for 2 for P1200/day that came with a smart TV, electric kettle, hot/cold shower with excellent water pressure, basic toiletries and complimentary airport transfers and breakfast. The place was very clean, internet speed was great and breakfast was the usual tocilog. The owners were vert gracious. The street was a short walk away and the main road less than 10 minutes on foot. It also had a generator which was great because there was a short power outage...
